So im looking to get some hfc's pretty soon. im not going to straight pipe it because i would like to pass emission test. im wondering what brand of hfc's you guys would think are the best? i have looked at the kinetix, but ive heard some bad things. price is not a matter.
I just put on a set of Berk HFC's. I previously just had a cat back Bassani and really liked the sound, quiet in the low rpm's but screams when I get on it. No drone in the cabin at all. When I added the Berks the sound just got better. Only issue is when they are cold there is a slight rasp in the mid rpm range. When it warms up it goes away almost completely but there is still a slight rasp which I have found is pretty common.
I recently had one of my buddies drive the car so I could hear the sound not being inside the car. I was amazed at the difference in sound from inside the car to outside it. Rasp is hardly even noticeable and sounds incredible.
I do not think there is much in performance gains but there may be a slight increase in the top end from my butt dyno. I have scheduled an appointment to get a tune and should see some better numbers once the tune is completed.
I found the Berks for $400 shipped brand new from a vendor on here. If you want to know where I bought them PM me for me details.
I would definitely recommend Berk, no issues, easy install no SES and a great sound.

We have seen $300 high flow catalytic converters fail and also $600 high flow catalytic converters fail. Trying to find a relationship between price and reliability is difficult. Nothing last forever.
I say go cheap.

we stick to the Ultimate Racing ones - made in North America, the choice of metal (slightly better flow and good for forced induction) or ceramic core (less costly). They are both lighter than stock, bolt up perfectly, and they last. My original set (ceramic) was installed in 2003. As of last year, they were still on a customers car, who is now using a Stillen supercharger
Have you had any fitment issues with them? A friend of mine just installed these in place of Berk test pipes with a TurboXS exhaust. Having no clearance issues with the TPs, he now has his midpipe rubbing a brace under the car. I haven't seen it in person, but he said it's like having a jackhammer in the trunk.
