IMHO........

Mine's CF scoop (yes, i like the way it looks) w/ K&N panel filter and upgraded intake pipe (Injen) w/heat shield wrapping around the piping.

I am thinking that they are all about the same although the K&N offering has not been dynoed.

The only reason I would prefer a Mine's scoop with only the stock airbox is because I wouldn't want a bunch of dirt in my engine bay. Otherwise, I think I they are all probably very similar. I just wish there was CONLUSIVE and WIDESPREAD evidence that a CAI helps increase power. I really want to get one because it exists but if power decreases, stays the same, or is only a few HP, then I can't justify it.

Im with ya potato head. looking for xmas gifts, and CAI at 200$ would be at the top of the list. but I cant justify MAYBE 1 or 2 hp if Im lucky. need more conclusive evidence; for every one dyno that shows gains another identical car loses.

Had Injen CAI until I started noticing RPM problems at idle. So, pulled off the Injen CAI, put on the OEM with Injen CAI chrome tube, minus 1" , with K&N filter. If done without me knowing, would have not noticed difference between Injen and OEM.
#@$%. I did notice a difference! NO RPM drop!

So far, the popcharger has proven to be the best. Do a search.

k&n recently posted a dyno pic that showed gains of 10hp. as far as my memory serves me, this is the highest dyno proven gain of any intake.

so the popcharger shows great gains...but what about when the temps inside the engine bay get hot, thats my concern...

i think the k&n would be a better design, and their dyno numbers are good but has anyone else dynoed this intake besides the manufacturer?

the gruppe m looks like a good design also, but too much money and no numbers out...no way i pay that much without some proof of performance

the cai's don't seem to be that great but this is a proven design that works....just not on a z

this topic still seems to be inconclusive if you ask me....out

My popcharger came with a heat shield wich also came with rubber trim that needed to be installed on the heat shield. With the hood closed, the heat shield with rubber trim seals the filter off pretty well from the rest of the engine bay. The heat shield also helps guide the cold air from the front of the car staight to the front of the filter. The popcharger rocks and sounds incredible.

WTF!?! They dynoed in 4th gear and the power curve goes beyond the 6500 rpm limiter... something smells fishy here!
