Talking Headers gain

I've got the RT cats and Nismo exhaust and I'm pretty happy with the results. Unfortunately it's buried in the snow up here in NH.

I'm wondering what kind of gains I can expect with the Nismo headers with this setup. And what about volume/sound of the exhaust?

You sold specifically on the NISMOS?

If you're wanting the best gains, may I recommend the Crawfords? (www.crawfordzcar.com)

I've driven both, and felt no difference with the NISMOs. While on the other hand the Crawford's were IMMEADIATELY apparent!

And on the other hand, only a handful of people have experienced the Crawfords and they are all affiliated with Crawford. Many people have the NIMSOs and have experienced gains and are quite satisfied. The Crawfords may be a good product when they have some history. The most important thing to do is get what YOU want. It is your money and you are the one who will go about ownership living with what you spend it on. Again, this is not a post against Crawfords just one to say that the NISMOs are popular and show nice gains as well. The NISMOs can also be had for a LOT less moolah than Crawfords. The NISMOs are reported to show about 9 HP on a stock Z and will liven the sound and tone a little more from the factory manifolds. Good luck with your decision!

I asked everyone I know to not buy me any christmas presents - to throw in money towards headers...

I'm leaning towards Fujitsubo because of the price, but I have not heard anything about them... Does anyone know what kind of hp gains the Fujitsubo headers pack? And more importantly a reputable company (Not I-M-R) to buy them from?

Yes, the Crawford headers caught my eye also... If the Fujitsubo headers prove to be weak I'll go with them.

Be careful with the Fujitsubo, as they are JDM, thus designed for right hand drive Z. Be sure that when you order them, specifically mention that it should be for the US spec (ie left hand drive).

I've got an appt. to get the Crawford headers and plenum installed at CrawfordZ on the 18th. Doug has been so kind as to sqeeze me in
I'll report back when I return. It's about a 7 hour drive so this trip will be weather permitting (looks good so far)

The NISMO's are proven gain...

They give an increase across the whole power band of up to 9RWHP, and at peak 13RWHP and 13TQ. With your High flow cat and exhaust set up you will definatly be getting all of that power to the ground.

Just saw these while I was surfing the net in a drunken stupor last night... https://www.350evo.com/catalog/produ...7b99660a54f029

XERD Headers... $750... Anyone heard anything? What kind of gains? As most things are, this sounds too good to be true

XERD's are cool,

they are long tube header's, and remove the cat all together...

thats a good thing if you dont have to worry about emissions, if you do, high flow cats help you alot!

there are people who say that long tube headers can decrease gains on some cars...

like an intake tube, some times the longer the tubing the less the gain...

You might want to go to ZChickz.com and look at the posts Tere made on Fujitsubo headers. Not a fun experience.

Xerds are what I will be getting. So far they have dynoed the most HP. Granted, it is all above like 5000 RPM's. They don't show a loss though. Also, I will be using cats with them. Don't limit yourself to cats that only fit in the stock curved location. There are a ton of inline options out there. I will get some that are high flow and will fit just behind were the XERD ends.

Come on Coby - They didn't dyno the highest.

The NISMO/RT cat combo dyno'd as high. The Crawford Header/Cat dyno'd higher.

Certainly they are the MOST COST effective though!

btw... nice avatar!

You'll see this most likely by the end of this week, Adam (VandyZ) had them installed on his car.

Note the Crawford Package, with Borla exhaust - gained @ redline 39 hp and 29 ft-lbs.

How bout' them taters?

Default I'm with potato

I don't believe that all of these people dyno'ing higher and stating that they experienced a gain were lying about the nismo headers. I believe that they will make the gain they state, as teh nismo exhaust is the only exhaust w/o huge discrepencies in power between everybody's before and after dynos. The Crawford setup is cool, seems like good stuff, and I totally believe they make power as well. It's just what you can afford and what you want to buy. The performance guys have had good luck with their mods, along with richard (and he used borla ).

Unfortunately I can not give any Dyno results as there is not a chassis dyno anywhere near where I live, but I have the Crawford headers and let me tell you, THAT IS WHERE IT IS AT!!! I had all other mods installed one at a time to see where I could FEEL the most. Crawford Plenum = big improvement, car was stock when installed, Pulley = next biggest improvement, installed after all but the HF cats and headers, Headers = OMG!!! I am sure having the rest of the intake and exhaust opened up really helped but man the headers really made one hell of a difference. My call is pulling like mad!!! The TQ gains are very noticable starting around 2K then really kicking in around 2500-2850 RPMs. I am almost afraid to really get on it right now since I have my Blizzak snow tires on and do not want to remove too much the "good" snow tread. Now I need the EVO throttle body and TS ECU flash and my NA mods are about done!!!

I have the Crawford "package" and got a discount because of this, but they are listed at $1300. If you are a Crawford customer Doug takes care of you.
