Default Art pipe or xyz with resonator?

Hey guys which one do you think I should get to fix my exhaust rasp? It's pretty bad when I floor it..... I also hear this hissing sound coming from my y pipe (where they joint) when I step on the gas (no leaks).

Right now I have DC headers Berk hfc stillen y pipe and agency power exhaust. Please don't tell me to get both cuz I'm too broke right now lol just trying to see which one will help more atm.

I had the XYZ with resonator with berk HFC and a Greddy SE....way less aggressive setup, and still had some rasp with WOT.

The XYZ is a great product though.

That's a very good question paulpoca2003.

They will both be effective but the question is which would be more effective...

They will both reduce rasp but they will both do it quite differently and they will both give audibly different sound characteristics. Both reduce rasp and both will slightly reduce loudness from what you currently have.

I think I am tempted to suggest that you go with the ART pipes. At least with the ART pipes you will also make ~6 more HP than what you have now.

Well I have Agency Power, and it used to be paired with HFC's (Stillen). I experienced the same rasp you described, until I installed ART pipes.
I'm so seriously, your car will sound like a monster soo loud and good.
*Ichiba y pipe, Stillen headers.

I can't comment on the ART pipes, but I have GTM resonated test pipes into MD's XYZ pipe with resonator. I have no rasp! The setup I had before same test pipes with HKS exhaust was quite raspy. I couldn't be happier with my resonated XYZ.

I had ART pipes and still had rasp with my Fujitsubo exhaust and non-resonated XYZ Y-pipe. I added the XYZ resonator and the rasp went away.

I then installed Berk HFCs and removed the XYZ resonator and the rasp came back. I had to put the resonator back on to eliminate the rasp completely.

If it's between the two, I would go with the resonated XYZ y-pipe, based on my experience. This assumes you care more about eliminating rasp than making power, as the ART pipes will make more power than adding the resonated XYZ.

Now, if you really wanted to bite the rasp in the butt, and could afford it, I'd look into these:

i have ART pipes, aam ypipe and AP. very minimal/no rasp but quite a bit of drone. i plan to purchase the XYZ w/ resonator and see how that goes, but here's a sound clip just to give you an idea. taken from iphone, btw so quality isn't superb.

why would u choose those over ART pipes? I haven't seen ANY testing on those products. The ART pipes have been test to make i think 6hp more then traditional tps plus huge gains of trq through the whole band PLUS help get rid of most rasp

+1 a friend has these paired to the HKS TD and it's still fairly raspy, imo.

I'm doing the same set up with a Nismo S tune when I get back in Oct. I'll definitely be waiting for your results.

The guy wants to eliminate rasp and those will do the job the best. No they will not make as much power as a test pipe, but they offer the best balance of power/rasp suppression.

Wow, really guys? Tough crowd....

How to reduce/eliminate rasp:

1. Add additional resonators
2. Run high-flow cats instead of test pipes. (ART pipes are the only exception)

The guy is on a budget (he stated he could only buy one option).

The Fast Intentions solution adds high-flow cats AND resonators on each side. What more proof do you need, lol.

a friend has them on his Z and there is still noticeable rasp thats with the HKS hi-power..

i think op should go with the ART pipes, i have the same exhaust and a aam ypipe and i have no rasp. so more power + no rasp (op's goal) + cheaper = ART pipes.

my 2 cent.

He has the fast intentions or the Motordyne on his HKS?

One thing about the HKS exhaust is that it is really, really prone to rasp on anything but stock cats. So I wonder what the relative differences would be.

Anything will rasp on an HKS exhaust but how much in relative terms would be helpful to know. that would be a hard test to come by.
