Hi all, I've currently got the exhaust in bits as the centre section is knackard. On my 2 year old mild steel backbox I've noticed a fair bit of rust on the flange, do you think it would be a good idea, whilst it's off, to paint the flange area with a bit of very high temperature paint? Would this prevent any more rust build up do you think? Or a waste of time? ![dunno](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/dunno.gif)
Also do you think it's worth doing on my new centre section? I'm shocked at how quickly these flanges rust!

The rapid heating of the exhaust system, and of course the fact that it's inches from the ground and constantly getting wet, both contribute to fast rusting. It's usually just surface rust, but I would have done the same thing as you.
Sand it down, spray some HTP, re-install.
