Is it wrong to buy an exhaust strictly to make your Z sound better?
In my opnion, being someone who doesn't really race, I look for exhausts only for their sound. I'd like to know your opinion and if you agree with me what exhausts have you found that sound "the best" or just make you shiver because they sound so bad?

 

i dont track my car and prolly never really will. i just bought the XO2 the replica of the HKS same thing and sounds the same just not shinny. but that is my favorite for looks and for sound. unless you like a single port than you could roll down that road! goodluck!

This is pretty much the only reason to buy an exhaust for the Z.

if your buying an exhaust for looks then HKS would be my choice, for sound HKS would be my last option.

go to youtube and start listening to different exhausts and buy what you think sounds good.

 

As suggested,listen to sound clips available online.Remember,they may not sound exactly
the same in person.But,It'll give you an idea.Also,the total sound of your Z is gonna change(louder)when you strart doing mods.Stuff like...intake(PopCHARGER)and HF cats.
Lets face it,most guys change the exhaust system because of the sound.If you go too far with the mods,do alot of hwy driving,you may regret the loudness and have headaches!Sound is your preference.Personally,I run a NISMO catback.I love the sound.
Not too bassy,have a nice snarl at certain rpms.Comfortable sound inside.Looks great.
Simple bolt on.Great quality.

 

For looks and sound i'd go with a Fast Intention. But FI is just really a Magnaflow X pipe to two canister resonator. If you make one yourself it will be in the ball park of $500 and not $1500 like FI charges. =P
