Default How can you tell a velocity from a ssv manifold

I'm looking at buying a used kinetix manifold and know there is a older ssv model compared to the velocity. How can you tell the difference?

Beware to either.. i have been told in VERY good confidence that cars at a certain local shop here have CONSISTANTLY lost power using that part... they would NOT sell me one, even after vouching that they did in fact like the V+ from Kinetix.

but i will tell ya, its pretty as all hell. Id love to have one.. if it made power.

Really!? That's sad news...even with my vortech it won't? Then what is the best thing for a new manifold for power gains?

V+ will be ok if you dont have built engine, ie, low boost only.
They "guarantee" it to 10 psi, but Ill tell you right now, I had the msot current updated one.. and while it never cracked......mine leaked all the time, had to constantly tighten the hardware.. left my engine cover off.

and this was as an NA.

You say youre vortechd?
You may or may not be safe. Id stick w the factory plenum and a spacer.. proven on many other peoples thread to make the best power.

I do like the V+ tho.. it sounded hella cool.. had almost a whiring noise like an electrical motor or something... like it wasnt a normal engine under the hood.

btw OP to answer your very first question,
the SSV has a collector box that is straight, whereas the Velocity tapers towards the front cylinders.
