I'm hoping that the passenger side muffler is hitting the metal black box under the car because the sound rattles the entire interior of the car. I'm definetly running the silencers until I go out on the weekend or dyno/drag race. I can't believe i'm saying that as I thought that it would not bother me. I knew it was gonna be loud with the test pipes but GEEZ, it sounds just like a rally car with a straight pipe. I'll have the video clip tomorrow hopefully.
I'm planning to insulate the trunk area with some sound deadner mats, it does bother me a little at certain RPM. Especiallly when all the windows are roll up. It will be a fun project for this weekend. Hopefully it will stop some of the rattling in teh dash as well. if not, i will have to try to insert some insulation in there as well.

Ben
another reason why the cabin noise is so loud, if you look at the stock exhaust, the muffler has a really thick pan that muffle the sound. after the stock exhaust is taking out and you left with all that chamber space to echo with, and also there is only a sheet metal between the trunk and where the muffler used to be. So, it tends to create that annoying cabin echo that rattle at certain RPM.

Hey, Kevin, it was very nice to meet you that day, kind of wish the weather would of been a little better that night. Definitely let me know next time when you are in town for a Z meet or something.
I also have a theory, let me know what you think?
when I saw your Fujisubo Y pipe, I was thinking doesn't that take out a lot of back pressure in the exhaust. Since, you've already got a high flowing cats, you should able to take advantage of that even with the stock y pipe, now you add a 3" y pipe, that split into 2 piping for some distance, I think you might be losing HP at that point. Because you should able to gain more than that, with all those mods!! You will probably get more HP if you have FI system on there. But it's just my 2cents

Out of curiosity, have any of you with the Pro 1 exhaust heard the RS*R exhaust in person? Reason being that the Pro 1 is a few hundred bucks less than the RS*R and I like the polished look of the Pro 1 pipes as compared to the ceramic coated pipes of the RS*R. Also, many people are praising the sound of the RS*R and am wondering if it's a little quieter than the Pro 1 or do they basically sound the same.

Also, do the tips of the tips of the Pro 1 exit at an angle? I've seen the Tanabe which exits an angle and I was wondering if these look the same from the rear or do the come straight out.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Haven't heard the RS*R, but just looking at the two from pics, they're designed almost exactly the same. Muffler cans seems a bit different in their silencers. The Pro-1 does not exit at an angle.

Oh the tips on the Pro-1 are slash cut, but the actual mufflers do not angle out.

Well, I finally have the time to do it. I add Sound deadner insulation to the rear of the trunk, I added about 3-4 layer of the stuff that I've got at Home Depot. I've also layer some in the rear strut tower to avoid all the rattling. Man! It has dramaticly improved the noises!! No more rattling cabin noise, all you hear is the smooth sound exhaust!! But around 3k rpm, you will still occasionally hear some vibration some where, but overall it's fantastic!!! and they are light as hell, so they don't really add any weight on them. Now, I feel like I just got my car for the first time, except with the beefy exhaust! I definitely recommend this to anyone that adding exhaust to their car.

it cost me about $40 after tax, and it took me about an hour to put in. (I was taking my time, try to get it perfect). Everything is still working great so far!! I still got half of the roll left.

I CONCUR! Autocrossed yesterday without silencers and whew. I did, however, have a guy that drove a vette say it sounded like a Ferrari on the course. I'm thinking it would be a loud, mean, Ferrari!

I put some sound insulation on mine as well but I have yet to take off the silencers. I will do that when the weather gets warmer.

you have not heard the true potential of that exhaust with the silencers in. Take em out and cruise around a little.

I just took off the silencers today with the sound insulation on. Oh man! What a big difference. You get the mean throaty sound with little to no rattling!
