well, as soon as i sell my old car i'm gonna have a little bit of money to blow on the Z, I was thinkin of getting a Nismo exhaust however, my dad (i'm only 17) doesn't want me to get an exhaust because of the warranty and keeps saying that the dealership will fight me if i bring in the car for warranty work. I am pretty sure there is a warranty for the Nismo exhaust since it is a nissan product correct? I am already gonna have enough trouble trying to get warranty work done since my car is from Hawaii and its now in cali.... Perhaps someone could fill me in on the specifics of it... I know there are a million threads about exhausts on here but i didn't see anything specifically on the warranty and stuff... I'm only an hour from performance nissan so i could take a ride over there and pick one up...

 

You are very lucky to be so close to a mod friendly dealer like Performance and they have great prices too!

 

Looks like your getting the NISMO exhaust cuz it' wont void your
warranty. Jeff at Performance will take care of you, That's where
I got my Exhaust.
Your gonna love it.

The best argument for you is that the NISMO catback is S-Tune and covered under warranty.

S-Tune = street (warranty)
R-Tune = race (no warranty)

 

And it doesn't matter what state you bought your car in. As long as you bring it to a Nissan dealer they will fix it.

About the exhaust thing. I'm positive that it would be under warranty. But I'm not sure if it's neccesary to get it installed at a Nissan dealership. They had a red 350 with the Nismo exhaust at the dealership I went to. It was warrantied.

Also, I don't think a dealer can completely void a warranty just because of one part. For instance, you bolt on a supercharger to ur Z and ur cd player malfunctions, you still have a warranty on the cd player. The dealer has to prove that the problem was caused from the after-market part. The motor, on the other hand.....
