Default How to get cold air from JWT Popcharger ?

Hey everybody. I am a new member here and i am going to install an intake this week. I was researching on the pros and cons of the JWT Popcharger and i saw in some posts that i takes hot air from the engine. And i searched to on the K&N Cold Air Intake. Didnt find any pros and cons from the CAI. I decided to go with the JWT Popcharger because i didnt find anything on the K&N CAI. Any help about the CAI will be appreciated.

Good choice--JWT!...has a neat heat shield.
I would'nt worry much about the engine heat.
Its a bolt on,a little more power,good price&quality---sounds good!

You could get the COBB Post MAF silicon air pipes then the JWT popcharger. The silicon hoses will block a lot of that heat.

I'm sure you would, the silicon hoses don't induce the heat as easily as a metal pipe; is there some cold hard facts on this not really. So yes blind leading the blind.

The OEM piping is plastic, either way the air in not in the intake track long enough to heat up. You have to figure that 3.5 liters of air X RPM are moving thru the intake track while the car is running. Even if you had aluminum piping, with normal underhood temps the air is not in there long enough to heat up to make a significant difference.

The JWT setup is shielded very well for a moving car, it draws air equal to a CAI. The only time a JWT draws hot air is when the car is parked, that is why i asked it the car was for drag. It does take 5 to 10 seconds for the AIT sensor to change to the proper readings once the car starts moving.

So question for you, if you were to coat a aluminum pipe (ceramic or titanium wrap) could you still drop the temps or would it just be a waste? That was a pretty informational post, thanks. *not trying to sound like a jerk*

Minimal drop in temp, to the point the difference wouldn't be noticable to the AIT sensor. If the intake piping was 6 inches closer to the headers, it would probably be a noticable difference.
