heh, any mod that shows less than 5-8HP gains might be a 0 gainer =).

The first thing I bought and installed on my Z was the Popcharger.
I felt a difference right off the bat. Well worth the money.

There is a reason for the price increase. They were originally selling the pop-chargers without the heat shield. I ordered mine directly from Jim. He told me they only started shipping kits with the heat shields a couple of weeks ago. They now only ship kits with the heat shield included. If someone did buy an early kit without the heat shield, JWT will sell just the heat shield to them.

Best way to avoid these probs is wait about a year before purchasing a new product.

That way all the smoke clears up and the truth starts to trickle in.

my $0.02

6 hp seems more likely.

The Dyno runs showing an 11 HP gain were done 5000 miles apart. The first one was at 3200 miles and the second at around 8200 miles.

I would expect an engine to loosen up in that period and show more power even with NO mods.

IMO tt is not possible to conclude that the 11 HP difference was due the popcharger.

Quote : "The car does have 5000 more miles on it since the baseline, so some of the gain could be due to more break in."

Agreed, this was with the original post.

Yeah, I think the original dyno poster did a great job of describing the test including all the important details like mileage.

Somehow, over time, this has mutated in to pop charger fans claiming "a guy gained 11 hp by adding a pop charger and he posted his dynos". That is just an inaccurate summary of what was really posted.

Thanks, that was me I think the main point was to share with the forum, that a mod had been installed, and to show the results on the same dyno as the baseline.

JWT Pop cahrger rocks!!! It's been my only for 7 months now I have 9800 miles on my Z and sometimes I'm afraid to shift at redline in traffic for fear that the back end will step out!!! I struggle to gain traction in the 1'st and 2'nd. The thing is for real. Now for the Borla......

Man I got mine coupled with DC headers and the Nismo cat-back exhaust and my car screams like a race car at WOT.

I can vouch for the JWT as well. Altough all the engine mods I did in my "sig" I did at once. So my before and after numbers are from the collective whole.
