Right now I got the FI resonated test pipes with the FI exhaust.
Too much drone for me and it's a little too loud for a DD
question if should I switch them out for HFC's ? Would that be a pretty good improvement or should i go for the ART pipes?
Opinions? Seems like art pipes are quieter then HFC's?
Also are there different versions of the art pipe?
Or you guys think HFC's would do my needs

I have a set of ART pipes I'm putting on sometime this week. I've read that theirs an older model and a newer one rather then different versions if that makes any sense. I was very impressed with the the way they were assembled and their wasn't one flaw in craftsmanship.

i got the 2.5 exhaust
hmm seems like ART pipes are cheaper the the FI HFC's lol
well i guess i should go with ART pipes!
seems like they are quieter then HFC's and produce a little more power.
time for my FI Res. Test pipes to go on sale

ART pipes are more but if you have the money I would buy them. You can get a used pair of HFC's for cheep. I have HKS hi power with stillen HFC's and I still get some rasp at higher RPM and WOT.
I have a set of the latest ART pipes, and I went from stock cats. They are louder at WOT but just cruising and idle they're just as quiet as the stock cats, with a little more gurgle (sexy). I don't get any RASP through the entire power band.
I've got ART pipes.Had HFC.
Yes,they are expensive. They are quieter at idle&low revs than the HFC.
In a way, they remind me of a Borla system I had on another car.Quiet at idle.
Open it up,pretty loud.
I like e'm.

FI HFC's are $500
MD ART are $585
I've read on here that there is a smell associated with the ART pipes. Could someone who owns a set confirm or deny? I'm in the market for this as well and daily drivability is the biggest concern for me. I'm stuck between ART pipes and waiting for the proposed ARK HFC that are still under construction....
yes they smell like test pipes. motordyne even confirmed it when i asked them.
im waiting on ARK's hfc also since they are gonna be rasp/hiss free and i dont like the smell of tp. hopefully its soon otherwise im gonna pull the trigger on berks.

Whenever you filter the exhaust less, you increase the smell of various exhaust fumes. HFC's have more of an exhaust smell than stock cats, and any form of straight pipes - ART, resonated, or plain - will produce more of an exhaust smell than HFC's.
You get used to it after not too long. I've long since stopped caring about that. The performance gains I got from the ART Pipes far outweighed the stronger smell of the exhaust, which really wasn't that bad in the first place.

I don't know what the final results will be because I haven't heard that particular combination myself but I'm sure it will be better than the regular resonated test pipes you have now.
It will change the sound a lot.
Deeper, smoother, not so loud and cut down the brightness.
