Default HKS HPE on HR?

So, it's about that time... Winter has come, I'm bored as hell and my Z needs a little more love. I've been eyeing the HKS High Power Exhaust kit even before I bought my HR and now I think it's time to do the swap.

I keep seeing on the HKS page, as well as all of the retailers, it is made specifically for the 03-06 range but I keep seeing people with it on their HR's. So the question is, what needs to be done to make it fit? Cutting? Custom welds? Or does it fit and HKS need's to change their labeling?

Thanks,

T

so long as you don't have a NISMO it fits perfectly. Even with the adjustable tips, it looks a bit off on a NISMO however

Sorry to bump a somewhat old thread. But what fitmit issues are there with the NISMO? Is it the diff cover or some suspension component?

I don't have a NISMO, but I'm about to get some work done on my diff and I'll be adding the finned diff cover. Just wondering if that'll be a problem if I decided to go with the HKS in the future.

I think what he was referring to was the fact that the exhaust tips dont stick out far enough on the HKS to make it past the portion of a nismo bumper that differs from stock. I think it is a looks problem not a physical fitment issue.

correct, it will bolt right up to a NISMO, but even with the adjustable tips, they will be slightly sunken in due to the extended rear bumper. They will end up in a similar spot to the factory tips, though many prefer the tips to slightly protrube past the integrated 'diffuser' on the NISMO. All personal preference
