Make that three companies if he isn't counting Doug @ Crawfords...

Good to see more parts entering the market - but honestly your guy is dead wrong.

Each vendor, i.e. Apex, HKS, Tanabe, Borla, etc - are producing their own. Persay this invalidates what this cat is telling you.

Merry Xmas!

I still see BORLA as being the most effective for the money..I mean to pay like $300-$500 more for a CLAIM of a few HP really does not sit well with me..Plus I have never been a big fan of STILLEN products..But that is just me,But I would get them if they were PROVEN on a dyno to produce alot more ponies than the competition...But when you look at it in a whole they are just pipes welded together to exhaust gasses and I think all are going to be relatively close in gains..Aside from a completly negligent design..AKA NIMO..

I order mine on dec. 23 and he said they would ship them out on monday
Booger - Be very careful about your information, sometimes claims need to be checked out. There are MANY companies that produce various exhaust components. I would be more than happy (and proud!) to show you our heavy manufacturing facilities. Steve [Millen] just gave a gentleman that goes by the name of DaveO (G35DRIVER.COM) the same tour. You could probably find his posts on the G35 Board. You would be surprised at our capacities. However, if you are set on going with BRM, by all means, please go with your selection.

Cheers.

Default Long or Shorties??

Weslutes - the images that have been displayed in our catalogs and ads for a while do show long headers. These were some of the original prototypes that we played with. Since we printed our catalogs back in January '03 - that will give you some indication of how long we've been testing these and other [different] designs. The full-length (or long headers) would require removal of the Cats and definitely be RACE-ONLY parts. We may still release these at a later date for our Stage 4 or Stage 5 (or higher) 350Z / G35 - but that's not certain yet.

The Headers which are being released this week are indeed Equal Length Shorty Headers that DO NOT require removal of the CATS.

We will be shooting the production Equal Length Stainless Steel Short Headers today and [of course] post the photos on this board as soon as they are available (hopefully today). Since the ads are 3-months ahead of us, you will not see the correct images in the magazines for a bit.

2FTS4U -- Post the pics soon. I'm trying to keep my cash at bay, but the temptation to buy a set of available headers from another manufacturer is great... must fight it...

G'morning Pimp - As long as the RT Cats are the same length as the OE Cats and bolt right up to the stock exhaust manifolds, you should be fine. Our Headers are designed to be straight forward bolt-ons with no cutting, trimming or other modifications required to the stock Cats.

Cheers!

Hey Victor (Mike Wazowski) - R&D will be back in on Tuesday (12/30). We will be able to get the dyno charts posted then. In the meantime, we are busy getting the images prepared to post for you all to see. We think you'll be pleased with the Stainless Steel Finish. For having simply picked 2 units directly off of the first production run the fit and finish is incredible!

Stay 'Tuned'.

Daking350 - Thanks for the question. Yes, we tested these [over & over] on a bone stock 350Z. This was the best way to check all of our numbers - and verify that what we were getting was accurate. We also have numbers with all of the mods you list - but those wouldn't be relevant to the headers by themselves.

So, yes - Daking350 points out a very important bit of information! The numbers that we have listed with the Headers are from dyno tests done on a BONE STOCK 350Z.

Thanks for bringing that up!

Default STILLEN HEADER IMAGES

Here are some images of the new Stainless Steel Headers. You can see that the flanges, pipes, and collectors are all Stainless Steel.

I have Stillen cat back exaust and randomtechnoligy cats that I got from Stillen . Are you saying that Stillen is making there exauhst and headers in house ? Or , are they designing and have them built for them ? May be I just mis understand what I was being told....or....The guy was just trying to make a sale.....I know I wanted stainless headers and BRM seemed to be the cheapest ones I could be found. If I was wrong I stand corrected

Booger - No worries. Yes. We absolutely manufacture our headers and exhaust systems in house. I cannot speak for your contact at BRM and do not have any experience with their product(s). So, I won't comment on their intentions. You may, however, come by and take a tour of STILLEN if you have any real doubts. We, of course, have over 17 years of pride and experience in manufacturing a wide array of products ranging from Urethane Body Styling and Hi-Flow or CAI systems to Sway Bars and Exhaust Systems. The range of products we have released for the 350Z & G35 vehicles is only the beginning for these vehicles. We have an incredible amount of great products coming out over the next few months.

Have a great weekend!

booger,

Last week Steve Millen showed me a prototype set of these headers and gave me an extensive tour of their manufacturing facility. I was very impressed to say the least.

My background helped me appreciate some of their manufacturing challenges. Often folks don't understand just how difficult it is to do repeated high quality, short radius bends, especially with stainless steel pipe.

I saw Stillen Exhaust Systems being manufactured. Watched a machinist bending stainless header tubes in one of their CNC machines. Took pictures of their "fixtures" and shop area. Posted one of a stainless header tube sitting in a CNC machine over on G35Driver.

Any idea if the headers will fit a RHD vehicle. There is an extra market out there.
