Depends. If you like the sound and performance you're getting now and you don't plan on any other mods, it's not necessary to change it.
Some mods might require an exhaust that breathes more than the stock exhaust to see higher potential realized.

It's a Z car and your on my350z.com!!! Of course you need to change your exhaust. It will bring that priceless smile to your face everytime you smash the go pedal......

The stock exhaust is excellent. Don't bother changing exhaust unless you want to modify your car. If you do want to do that, that's a good first modification.

I agree with HFM. The stock is quite good. If you were to change the exhaust, I would consider doing the Y-Pipe and Straight pipe right before the muffler. That's where you'll most likely benefit the most from.
