Default Anyone out there with DC sports x-pipe exhaust??

I've been in the market for an exhaust system for quite sometime now and I came across the DC Sports exhaust system (model SCS6205) and it looked quite interesting. The design and price of this system is very attractive, but there is just no information about this exhaust out there, I've tried searching over and over, look for yourself. There's a guy in Europe with one of these exhausts and has a couple of HD videos on youtube (there are some crappy videos from others, but they don't conclude anything):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OFfMoAC2is

and

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gfjM...eature=related

I tried messaging the guy, but to no response. I just want to know how loud this thing is... In the videos it's very hard to tell since he recorded in a tunnel. I'm also curious about the reliability and if there's any rasp, drone, etc. Is it heavier than stock? How is it under WOT? If anyone can help me with my questions, I would be very appreciative!

Picture of system, so no one gets confused...

In for more info. I'm interested in this exhaust because of the x-pipe to reduce rasp from my test pipes/DC headers.

Design is similar to OEM. I am not a fan of single canister exhaust.

Appears that the entire exhaust is polished stainless steel. Like the flex pieces near the motor.

How much?

I have this exhaust, they are around 700 or 800 dollars.
I got mine for $400 brand new. A little louder than stock,
Sounds good at WOT. Very smooth and no drone, rasp
or backfires at all. Also perfect fit, I don't know why this
exhaust is not more popular. I saw it in a tuning parts magazine
from a few years back and was $1200.

Thanks so much Surg,

I've actually seen this system go for as low as $585-$600. How many miles have you put on yours? And would you say it's a good exhaust for daily driving? I'm not sure if I want to purchase this exhaust or just put Berk high flow cats on my stock exhaust (any advice/suggestions?). And you wouldn't happen to have any sound clips or videos?

I don't have any sound clips or videos. Had it for about 6 months and
is great for daily driver or racing. It's not so load but I have stock
cats and exhaust manifolds. A very smooth sound as if you took
the stock system and turned up the volume, yes that smooth.
It is lighter than stock, and its stainless with mandrel bends and perfect
welds. I will try to get a sound clip when I get a chance. I really dont
know why it has been overlooked. I like the stock look so it was perfect for
me.

Would you say that the videos in my first post are a good representation of the sound/tone this exhaust has?

The videos seldom sound like real life. Put this system with the
Berk high flow cats youre good to go. If they fit, you do the rest
of the research.

Yeah I'm pretty sure I'm just going to bite the bullet and get the exhaust. But from all the videos I've seen, I just thought this thing was going to be so much louder than it sounds because of its straight-through design (no resonators like most systems out there). I'm guessing there's a lot of destructive interference occurring at the x-pipe junction, who knows.

Anyways, thanks again for the help Surg.

i have this exhaust setup with berk HFCs. Listening to the videos you posted I'm guessing the person is running stock cats possibly. With my setup, there's very noticeable rasp at 3300 rpm. Some days it bugs the hell out of me, other days it's not so noticeable.

Overall the exhaust note is sufficiently loud enough for me that it doesn't attract too much attention. It's similar to what was posted in the videos.

i made a post a few months back about the gains with this setup. i'll link it whenever i get a chance.

I'll save you the trouble. I remember reading that article while randomly flipping through magazines at a store. Weird that no one really seems to talk about this exhaust.

Rasp with HFCs? That's unfortunate. One of the selling points, for me, was the x-pipe.

I had this exhaust on my Nismo with Berk HFCs. Sounds great, not too loud and not too quiet. As already mentioned, unfortunately, horrible rasp in the 2k-3k RPM range. This is because the system uses no resonators at all. Just the X-Pipe and muffler. I talked to DC Sports directly, and this is the reason they discontinued manufacturing this exhaust - everyone compained about the rasp. That is why I sold mine.

Got mine here for $565

I'm not getting that rasp at any rpm. 0-6600. After test-pipes
maybe I can hear it better. oh well thanks to the guys at dc
for a great exhaust 400 bucks and got one off the only ones.
I think they really dropped the ball on this, but if ya comeback
cause this thread remember... pass the cheese please.

I just ordered the last one available for shipping at $550 shipped. Its hard to grab this exhaust now-a-days and most places that sell them don't tell you that they are not actually in stock, rather they wait till you order than order it directly from AEM and that takes a while. Mine should be coming this week and i'm curious to see how it sounds with my TPs. Worst case scenario i'll get some resonators welded in but from a design standpoint I think its great. Merges with an x-pipe at a great point in the exhaust system and then is dual all the way down to the muffler. DC makes quality parts too, so I would think its way better than any eBay brands. We will see

Mine just arrived today. I have a custom exhaust shop standing by in case I need some "emergency resonators" welded on, but we shall see. Even if I need to get resonators put on, it will still end up being cheaper than if I bought a Q300 or a Bassani. In the videos it seems that some have terrible rasp and others sound amazing.

Anyway, the quality is superb. I mean really impressive. The canister did get scratched here and there during shipping, but all in areas that don't really matter.

Also, this is a 2.5" exhaust, which is good news for me. I seem to recall reading 3"? All the better it's 2.5" because that's what test pipes and HFCs tend to be. I wonder if you might actually get more rasp with stock 2.25" cats...

Got it installed today along with HFCs. Revving while stationary and not in gear it sounds fantastic. While in gear there is rasp past 3400 rpm, BUT it it only noticeable from inside the car. I tested standing outside as my gf did a fly-by and it sounds fine. I will probably get resonators installed, but I don't think it's a pressing matter. Highway noise increased, but anything less than 3k is still pretty quiet.
