Default APEXi ECV

I got a new exhaust setup (Motordyne ART pipe, Shockwave V2) but in order to pass my yearly vehicle inspection, i have to pass a sound test (which is basically a guy standing behind your car asking to rev your engine), they are really picky about sound.

Anyway, i have researched the APEXi ECV as much as i can but i fail to get a definite answer from anyone on what size matches my exhaust piping. Here is a link to the product: (surprisingly, very few people here know about this ECV)

http://apexi-usa.com/shop/index.php/...rol-valve.html

My exhaust is 2.5" = 63.5mm
The sizes available for the ECV are 61mm and 67mm

I received a response from APEXi themselves and they stated that the 61mm ECV has a valve-plate diameter of 58mm (2.28") and that as long as i have clearance for the valve plate, i should be fine.

I am not worried about the valve plate, i am worried about the flange fitting with my setup more.

Any input from anyone on this?
Has anyone installed one of these? what size?

I don't want to pull the trigger until i get some kind of definite answer since i will be forced to buy two of them.

Thanks in advance

This may be of some use to you;

However, this all depends on where you're thinking of fitting it, the ART pipes and Shockwave system changes pipe diameter 3 times from the front to the back.

If i were you, i'd spend the money on the Motordyne "solution" by getting the HFC/resonator combo for the shockwave system, v-band, very easy to swap in and out.

The other thing is, depending on the rules, if you keep the revs low and/or only rev slowly, the shockwave system won't be as loud.

I saw this vid before, but unfortunately does not answer my question.
I know some people on here have it, but no one put pics of installation or answered the size differences.

I will also look into the HFC, but i don't know if it will be quiet enough to buy. I heard that this ECV really makes the sound stock.

As for the revving part, the guy makes sure you really give it alot of gas, i feel sorry he has to breathe all those fumes lol

Read the description in the vid, it helps somewhat.

The HFC/Resonator combo should knock it down enough for the test.

The pipe size differences depend highly only where in the pipe your'e going to put it, i already explained where the sizes change.
