3 questions
I have a '07 nismo which I wanna do some mild upgrades including the tuning for it:
1st question, Which headers should i go for stillen or any other recommended(at one point I was considering getting the r-tune ones, I do know they are expensive)?
2nd question, Should it be better to get straight pipes or HF cats(iI was reading that even thought you get more out of straight pipes I will have the "RASP" sound with it, which I think in the long run will bother the heck out of me)?
3rd question, I want to keep my exhaust yet I saw that they do sale the Y-pipe, will that be recomended since I'll be adding the above additional parts besides a 3rd gen intake from Stillen?
Thanks for the help guys

For question 2 I'd get HFC's, I think you get the best of both worlds performance, and sound. I have test pipes and the additional rasp gets very annoying not to mention emissions testing here in Va

obviously I want power yet at the same time to avoid any unneccesary hassle on the other end if you know what I mean :P I'm keeping this car for awhile till I get my GTR only way for me to replace my nismo off
final power should be around 300+ at the wheels with mods if I'm keeping it longer after I pay off[just got this car since I total my prior Z stupid cherokee] I'll go FI

lol no I dont hate indians I used to be with an native american before, I happen to rear end a jeep grand cherokee who wasn't paying attention passing an accident site and panick when saw state police coming on the other side of the highway plus small ice on the road got my airbags deply = car got totaled bc of that and thanks for infob tu even if I stay mild modded I want the best whp ratio by money spend so when i go tune it i get the most out of it my buddy 370z got 298ht240lb.ft with just stillen 3rd gen intake, HFC & exhaust from fast intentions at the wheels I know can be pretty close with that with the mods that I want
Headers do not seem to be worth the cost and cost of labor, the gains seem to be minimal as well.
Test pipes will give rasp, lots, and lose some low end power/torque.
HFC's will help cut down the rasp, but will have more restriction than test pipes.
Motordyne ART pipes are resonated test pipes, practically no rasp, and 'fixes' the power/torque loss.
Intake is negligible in gains, you will get great performance from the stock setup, more to be had from the rest of the car.
Y-pipe is the next worse restriction in the exhaust after the cats. Practically anything aftermarket is an improvement due to the bends and merge.
I like the Motordyne system (XYZ pipe) specifically as it was actually tuned on the car and the merge point/distance was set after locating the 'sweet spot' or, the point at which both torque and power are maximized.

ok so motordyne ATR pipes and XYZ now the last piece will be the headers, you dont gain much HP unless you are into dragging but plenty of which is more for the driving experience
I wanted to add from a previous reading about headers that was suggesting a lot about crawford headers which as it was explain on that old thread that are the ones that makes the most power and torque for a Z33, if anyone can add to that, thanks.
I'm assuming cost isn't much of an issue here. Seems that as well as the headers not making much difference, esp if you're on a 2006 and up (stock manifolds are very free flowing) that the labor to fit them is crazy, they're really tight.
Look into longtube headers -- several have just come to market and the results look promising. Look into PPE or Fast Intentions.
You won't need test pipes or an HFC with longtubes.
Get a Motordyne XYZ (Y-pipe) and exhaust.
The guy that mentioned Borla headers was joking. Even Borla admits their headers lose power over stock.

Would be interesting to see if the long tubes power compared to stock headers and TP's or HFC's.
What i'm getting at, is if they make power, but they're replacing easily replaced pipes, unless they make more power than the above combo, they're still not worth it
