Default Anyone try this weird looking filter yet?

http://www.amazon.com/Volant-15958C2...im_sbs_auto_30

Has anyone ever seen this installed on a car? I came across it on Amazon when I was bored at work. It looks like it uses a single airbox but two filters. I was a little confused by it. The pictures are small, and there are no reviews, but I figured if it was any good someone would have tried it by now. Also, if this has already been discussed, I didnt know how to search for this as all I kept getting for dual air filters was HR related, and I am unsure what else you would call it, so I just browsed this section for a while looking for it. Didnt see anything.

I don't think that picture matches the actual product.

Even if it did its useless...why in the world would you need two filters leading to the same pipe? lol

Dont quote me on this but stock i believe they come with one large rectangular panel filter, can you show me how upgrading to a "split" filter provides any significant gains?

Crappy advertisement is what it was lol...

With all the intakes styles out for the Z, if having a split filter design were to provide any respectable gains...im pretty sure someone would have designed something like that by now.

Im pretty sure even the twin filter designs for the GT3 that they sell as upgrades are only designed that way due to problems with fitment. There is barely any room back there, so it would only make sense to put two smaller filters instead of one large conical one that wouldnt even fit.

I've seen the Volant system mainly in guys driving pickups&SUV's.
The pic shown is not the unit for the Z.The whole deal replaces the OEM air box, intake
tube. The intake tube appears to be a larger diameter(could be wrong on this).
Since its a air box&tube&a filter,I don't know what difference would be to just dropping
in a K&N?

40ft/lbs? Wow, that must be what happens after you remove the dead rodent blocking the intake pipe! :/

I know that isn't stock, but there was some variant that came with dual cones into one from the factory and it made additional hp. Saw it on jalopnik or autoblog a few months back.

I ended up torn between a 4" Stubby that looked like a light saber and a 3" stubby that is just black and half of it is wrapped in what I assume is vinyl "Carbon Fiber". I was afraid the CF would look stupid as its obviously not real, and then on the SW on I was wondering if it would get jacked because **** yea star wars. Also I couldnt pick out a color. I ended up getting the CF one but the lightsabers are only 20 bucks so I might get one of them.. or one of every color and swap them out randomly. I dunno. lol. They had like purple, blue, red, and black I think. Just search lightsaber antenna on amazon and bam there it is. I know you want one too. Dont lie.

It comes with about 30 stickers, which of course is what accounts for most of the HP and TQ gains. Everyone knows thats what stickers are for.

^^ I shall. Also I have no intention of wasting my time on a NA build with a super sweet CAI, as they dont usually do jack.
