Thumbs down Question about my exhaust...

Ok so here is my set up.

Megan Racing Headers
Custom Resonated Y Pipe
Resonated Test Pipes
Agency Power 3" Single Outlet Exhaust

Between 2100-2600 Rpm, There is a weird kind of buzzing noise, maybe a rattle? I am not sure, but it only happens in THAT rpm range. I have heard of this happening to other Z's but have never seen a solution or an ACTUAL cause. I am sure with some more research i could find thread after thread about this but i still figured I would make my own haha. anyway, any information would be helpful

It's your resonated test pipes. They all make that sound, especially if you're off-load and letting the engine brake itself.

I would suggest you tighten all the exhaust bolts as best you can. Do you have new gaskets?

BTW, wrong forum section.

I am getting it up on a lift next week and I will check all my bolts. I put new gaskets in it when i did the exhaust. Is there any way to make this noise go away? high-flow cats possibly?

Yes, I think HFC's will possibly make the noise either nonexistent or a lot quieter.

I've got resonated test pipes and am looking for a used set of HFC's for the right price.

I have non-resonated test pipes. Get the same noise. You learn to live with it. Its not that bad. Kind of sounds like turbo if you time it right..

If you are referring to rasp then most test pipes resonated or not will have rasp or drone.

I have found Berk Hi Flow cats to be extremely solid and reliable. After 3 years not one CEL or any issues with them. Great sound, no drone or rasp, loud as **** at WOT.

There is no rasp to my exhaust, i will try to post a video so you all can here it lol. it sounds like a really fast tick or something close if that makes sense. my initial thought was a possible rattle of some sort, but i cant pinpoint anything.

It sounds like a hiss as if it is sucking air or potential exhaust leak. Prob want to re-check all connections and gaskets.

That hiss is normal for test pipes.

It won't go away, no, in some cases it's worse.
