Motordyne ART + Shockwave has slight drone, but it's a different kind of drone. It's more of a deep growl resonation, not so much like droning you'd hear on like a fart can exhaust. Also cruising on the highway @ 70, you can't really hear it that much anyways.

Before I had the ART pipes installed and running with just Shockwave TDX2, it was very DD-able. Cruising was like silent/stock until you get on it past 3k-3.5k rpm.

The whole purpose of getting Motordyne for me is it can easily be a DD exhaust system as it's quiet at idle / cruising, but when you push it, it sounds insane. It's got that dynamic range whereas most other exhausts for the Z are either quiet to begin with and not even that loud when you push the car, or just straight up noisy.

Which version of the Shockwave? You're the first person i've actually heard state that, although, the older version, V1, was reported to have a little marginal drone as you described.
Non such reported from the V2.

Bingo, +1 etc. etc.

110% the reason i ordered it.

And if you still need it quietening down any, then just add the resonator module

I got V2 + ART pipes now. Drones a little bit on the highway, but barely. Nothing unbearable.

It's one of two modular options for the TDX2 Shockwave exhaust. The other being the HFC.

It replaces the mid twin straight pipes between the X resonator and the axle backs.

Mine drones a little at lower speeds in 6th gear cuz rpm is < 2k. Once a little over 2k it's fine.

Wow alot of haters on the nismo.I dont know where alot of you have been getting your information but the nismo exhaust is not "slightly" louder than stock, it is a very noticable difference. All I get are compliments about how my car sounds, and under WOT it sounds great. I have had it for over a year now and it still makes me smile everytime I drive!

On that note, the ARK does sound great too on the vids I have watched, so it is really personal preference. I dont think the nismo should be knocked though, I have never changed my opinion on my exhaust.

Good luck!

My friend has a 350z w/ ARK Performance Exhaust and honestly, it's probably the best sounding exhaust and with little to no drone issues when I rode along with him. I would have recorded the ride if I saw this thread a little earlier!
