REALLY need your help guys. Big mod decisions.
I just recently purchased a 2004 Nissan 350Z Touring. Loving it so far.
First mod was going to be a K & N typhoon air intake (http://store.knfilters.com/search/pr...Prod=69-7070TB), followed by the Kinetix velocity manifold. (http://www.kinetixracing.com/kinetix..._manifold.aspx) ,
. After these mods I am planning on supercharging the car with the Vortech supercharger. (http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/product.php?p=117).
I was wondering would these fit together?
In other words would I be wasting money by buying the intake and/or manifold because I would have to change them out when it is supercharged?
Very curious and ready down to the upgrades!
Thanks in advance guys

By the way what are your goals ?
Thanks a lot for the input my man! My goals are to reach right around/above 425 HP.
So you are saying do not purchase a CAI at all? With the supercharger, it would be useless? I don't ever plan on selling the Z.
What exactly is HFC?

The super charger would eliminate the need for CIA. I don't mean to sound mean but please please please research before you post stuff because these guys will eat you for it.

My friend from Lebanon has offered excellent advice.
Personally,I'm the type of person that plans what he wants to
do with his car, including having a realistic picture of ALL the costs
involved, and does it.My hunch is that going with a SC'r installation
in your Z sound good in your mind but its a long way from actually happening.
Could be wrong...hope so.
HFC means,high flow cats(converters).
If you are indeed serious with getting to your HPgoal, you may want to
consider a single turbo set up.
Its only money!

If you floor the Vortech at 4000 rpms, it is not going to make maximum boost or torque, but it will give you everything it has instantly (no lag)
In terms of putting your foot down on the gas pedal at 4000 rpms, the ST will make you wait for a fraction of a second, then hit you hard with lots of power. It'll have some lag, but have better boost response at low rpms.
At high rpms, the ST will have a little less lag than low rpms, but it'll still be kinda there.
The vortech is always synced up with the engine, while every turbo will have to build energy first to match exactly what your gas pedal is doing.

He is absolutely right. But we need to know if he is willing to be running on high boost or low boost.

The Cosworth intake manifold is a great mod. However, very expensive.Whats more, there
are other manifolds that offer similar performance at a much lower cost..may not be
as pretty as that Cosworth. Also, the Cosworth is more widely used overseas than here.
Possibly because there are not as many options.I agree,a spacer is the quick&dirty method to get that extra air to those cylinders.

I'll tell you what, if I had save all my money that I spent doing the little things, I would have been boosted a long time ago. I suggest buying stuff you're going to use with your kit that way you're on a constant build and you're kind of forcing yourself to go that route. For example, I bought HFC's, plenum spacer etc. that I am planning to use with my TT kit. They may not help me too much now but my it takes me that much closer to my goal. So yea, no CAI.....
$1500.00 vs $600... you be the judge. I'm running the MREV 2 in my set up and I'm adding a Motordyne Spacer for my new build. The Cosworth is gorgeous but for average set ups(Vortech) the spacer + MREV is a better combo than the Cosworth.
