Default Remove stock resonator or muffler?

Hey I'm new to this forum and have a question regarding the stock exhaust. I'm looking to get more sound out of the exhaust, not ricer loud but slightly louder to hear the engine inside the car. Most of the info that Ive gotten doesn't mention costs or long term pros/cons. Which one should I remove? Anyone have any experience?

Objective:make the car louder.
Sounds like a ricer move to me.
It appears that you are not looking for quality or
performance. If so,go the ye old muffler shop and have the guy
remove the resonator and insert a pipe in its place.
It'll be louder for sure.

Just spend $400 shipped on the xo2 exhaust, it is a knock off HKS exhaust, I ran it on the 350z I had, it sounded great before I put headers on it

Cheapest option is to just grab some CDs containing car sounds and blare them through your bose stereo. I personally run "Sounds of Daytona"

Moved..

Rather than messing with the stock exhaust, I would suggest going aftermarket.

Set a budget and decide from there.

you wanna hear the engine? get some intakes.

Are you actually willing to spend some money on mods? Or are you just looking for cheap/free ways of making your exhaust louder?? If you are set on not spending ANY money, just insert some nuts and create a spacer in between the muffler and resonator flanges. There you go, not ricer loud but still a bit louder.

I'm definitely not looking for quality or performance (don't have the funds at the moment). All I'm looking for is to get rid of the muted exhaust sound. Test pipes sound nice but I would rather take it to an exhaust shop and have them remove one or the other depending on what sounds better, not necessarily louder.

Yeah, you're going to have trouble doing this, i can see it. Unfortunately, there are few things you can do cheaply on the 350z

If you remove the mid resonator, it will go louder, probably to a level you want, but it will be super rasp city.

If you remove the rear muffler, it will go louder, more so than the mid pipe change. The problem is likely to be boom, major boom. It's going to be fully dependent on what you do with it.
I have a rear muffler here that's in good condition, i had straight pipes inserted so it's plug and play, it's louder, sounds ok, but booms at various points, i do not like it at all.

Test pipes, for the most part, will give you rasp, not to mention no cats.

ART pipes are pretty good at eliminating 95% of the rasp on a stock system, but are
barely any louder.

You're going to have to spent money on *any* of the solutions, i would just suck it up in the meantime and save for something decent, it's well worth it.
