Default Rotten egg smell

As of late I smell a rotten egg/odd smell when accelerating hard and tonight while idling. The smell tonight was coming out of the exhaust and in 2 years of ownership this is the first time its happened.

No loss in power or fuel economy either so to speak... so any ideas? Catalytic converter getting ready to go?

A quick Google search is 50/50 on the topic. Some say bad cat, some say its normal once heated up yet this is the first I am noticing it.

why would the cat's going bad have to do with the rotten egg smell? If the cats aren't working properly and can't filter the exhaust fumes, isnt that similar to an exhaust leak at the headers? I dont think the fumes smell like rotten egg tho....

If the cats aren't working efficiently, the sulfur in the fuel reacts to form hydrogen sulfide, which smells like rotten eggs. It's very common.

Try another brand of fuel in case your source is simply high in sulfur and your cats can't keep up with the conversion process. If it remains after trying "expensive" PREMIUM fuel, then deal with the smell until the cats fail completely, and throw a CEL.

I have been using Shell gas as of late and my Z has 115k on her.

If the cat's are going bad whats the best course of action with a test pipe that wont make my Fujitsubo sound like garbage?

No cat and bad cat are a completely different smell.

It's possibly the fuel change, as others have said. However, CATs all make rotten egg smells and it's not just the sulpher in the fuel, it's part of the catalytic reaction, it's normal. CATs make that smell when they get extra hot, so hill climbing will cause increased engine gas temps, as will flooring it.

If you're just after getting rid cats, without making your CBE sound like ***, get ART pipes.

Also, as above, cats smell nothing like no cats, under any situation
