Default Having trouble fitting exhaust

Application: 2004 Nissan 350z Touring 6spd*

Question Is:
Has anyone else had any problem similar to mine after removing and installing different engine?*

So after popping my factory engine with boost I replaced it with another oem engine out of a 2005 Z. After everything went in smoothly I proceeded to install my Berk test pipes and full factory exhaust that I had installed before on the original engine. This is where I started having trouble.

My driver side TP went on just fine but my passenger side TP not so much. It fitted but it is pushing against the underside of the car and a lil towards the right (when sitting in car). I went straight for the obvious, the motor mounts but everything check out fine even after lifting engine and inspecting the mount components against a diagram.*

The fitment issues made me had the forced the ypipe to fit properly but it obviously isn't perfect. I have everything install front to back and everything is sealed up but now I'm in the market for another after market full exhaust and I don't want to come into the same problem when installing it.*

Bump?

No one even has a smart comment about how long my post is? Hmmmm I must be some type of pioneer for this issue. Not something to be proud of

All i will say is, that there seems to be a lot of non apparent play available when tightening up the TP/cats.

I know when i bolted up my ART pipes, that the first time, it was going to be too close to the floor pan, so i undid it again and jiggled it before doing up each bolt a little at a time until it pulled tight.

Do you have the original cats to test fitment, making sure it's not something else stupid?

yes ive thought of fitting the original cats but I recently sold them.

You are exactly right. I had to do the same thing. Loosley put the exhaust on and then tighten everything after everything is connected.

The only thing that really sucks about it that the test pipe is so tight against the floor the vibratioin slightly resonates through the car. Pretty annoying.... Radio gets turned up lol

I am just wondering if the motor mounts are slightly different between the 04(my chassis) and 05 (current motor in car) 's motor mounts. I kept the 05 aluminum mounts on the 05 motor but did transfer the 04 rubber portion of the mount. Any knowledge to support this might be an issue??

Might pull it all apart and inspect some things after the AAM Competition (Mid Atlantic Region) meet on Saturday.

Assuming the TP is a good fitting anyway, just keep playing around with it, try a little twist.
