Default Used jic y pipe help

So I just got a used jic y pipe and the flex pipe mesh part is scraped/scratched off.. It's only on one side of the pipe, The guy said its fine and it's just the mesh that holds it together. So I'm wondering if it's fine? Or do I have to fix it

Only one way to find out. Install it, start the car and see if air leaks out.
