This is "Tougelabs" anyway we will never determine who's header is better but I can tell you one thing. I can order the PPE's and they make upwards of 30 hp I'm extremely happy with mine and they honestly turned my Z into a different car ! And you can't beat the price and the quality is top notch !

its my understanding that the 1-3/4" to 1-7/8" step headers with the reducer merge collector are pretty much the same thing as the sg's other than the fact that the sg's assemble on the car with the collector being a slip fit and the ppe's are all welded together (which doesn't affect performance obviously). please correct me if i'm wrong.

Is that 30hp after tuning or with just bolting them on?

You already have one at the collector merge.

Granted this is on my S1 cammed 5AT DE here are the dynos comparing the 2 PPE Headers all on the same dyno.

The only thing changed were the headers.

1 3/4 (no step) vs 1 3/4 stepped to 1 7/8

1 3/4 (no step) vs momentum headers, ART pipes and cams

same day dyno stepped headers vs momentum headers, ART pipes and cams

stepped headers vs momentum headers, art pipes, stock cams. I ran slower at the track due to the down low torque loss. I ran 13.1 on the 250hp tune in 40* weather

non stepped 1 3/4 vs momentum headers, ART pipes and stock cams. Best time to date with new headers 13.2 in 80* weather

PPE stepped 1 3/4-1 7/8

PPE non stepped 1 3/4 headers

The gains would be more on a 6mt due to less drivetrain loss I'm 5AT.

I'm happy with the new design which is a reducer at the collector merge like SG's. I now have my lowend back.

Honestly I think they should just make them all stepped, but with the reducer like the 1 3/4.

Hope this helps if you are on the fence about these. DE you will need cams to take full advantage, but you will have gains (as shown in SG's test on a stock cam DE) The Revup and HR guys you are good to go.

for those of you who don't know how headers work on our cars...

- Non-rev DE's, NEED cams to make any significant gains

- RevUps can make solid gains, even w/stock cams but aftermarket ones will help

They SGs are 1 7/8ths with the reducer. No stepping. Their race car headers were stepped. It's a very similar design.

I am 310whp w/ C8R revup cams and Osiris tuner w exhaust cam phasing.

not disagreeing at all. this was my understanding as well. however i talked to tougelabs today and he told me their 350z that has the ppe headers does NOT have cams and it still made tremendous gains.
