Default Exhaust Cutouts

Quick search show someone having some issues with Doug's cutouts. Seems QTP has a good rep. Anyone else have experience with them?

QTP is pretty solid. Just not for a car that's daily driven in the snow in wisconsin. I would know. Also make sure you tighten up any bolts on the electric cutout before installing. Vibrations and heat always seemed to loosen the bolts up for me.

Why not run open dump since your boosted?

What are the pros/cons for cutouts vs open dump valves?

For the waste gates? Gonna be a little hard with internal waste gates.

Ohh okay lol.

My buddy had an e-cutout on his AMR STI. That thing sounded nasty when it was open. With the launch control it used to pop flames out to the side from the cutout.

If you get it please post videos!

i have a 3in cut out right at the downpipe on my car.. the one sent had a broken tooth and wont close fully, but its super loud when its open.. hopefully it will be worth it in terms of spooling and getting into boost faster tho.

When its out of the tune this week Ill make some good videos when i have it back.
If i had it to do over again, id say to use the style that does not use a butterfly... id opt for something like this as the seal is perfect and wont degrade over time.... :

I think this is the type the Dougs uses.

QTP is awesome. A buddy had a pair of them on his SS, they worked amazing. They have a slim version too that looks like it may be easier to tuck under there.
