A bumper tuck? Obviously he's trying to keep it concealed...
I bet if this was production made with the name hks, greddy, whatever name you think up, half of you name brand nut riders out there would buy it. You guys act like its the end of the world if someone makes something custom for their Z and its not the prettiest thing in the world. Thank you to those of you who have a proper opinion. And the metal wasnt the cleanest, it had some rust, so the welds weren't really coming out good at all. The looks aren't great, I know, but I just think it sounds better than stock. The stock exhaust pings too much after you have a bunch of bolt ons.
However, congrats if your goals were to repair a damaged exhaust... Other wise I know the oem exhaust sounds better than this... Spend a little more $ on at least materials and practice welding to make it look good.
Don't downgrade man, you're better than this. If you have money for te37's than you have money for a decent exhuast

Dude you are in Ohio, I have a bunch of spare 3" piping. My Buddy Jesse & I will gladly put something together for you. All we ask in exchange is a Handle of Jager and you buy any muffler you want. Then make the trek to Cincinnati.

Hey op. not that you give a crap but here's what my hack job looks like. I had the nismo 3" exhaust with dual canister deal. Just unbolted the muffler, welded on a long *** 3" tip, tucked bumper and it looks like this. I'm not a huge fan of it but it does the job of any other expensive exhaust.
3" piping is 3" piping who's gives a crap.

I think the problem with most ppl is is that they don't fully read everything. You mentioned it was just a temporary exhaust because of bad weather. And even though it may not look as good to most or to all, there is nothing wrong with diy projects. Everything takes practice to become better and there is nobody on earth that popped out of their mom and started walking. Constructive criticisms are helpful but I find that there are a few that just haven't matured.

Thank you to those of you who are mature and have respect. And just to clear things up, I have full bolt ons, and my stock rear muffler made it sound like crap. It sounded like a damn Maxwell house coffe can with a pin hole in it so for those of you who think it would be better for me to run OEM, you are wrong. It sounded like garbage, the backfires sounded like someone stuck a firecracker in a pop can. And I clearly know its not beautiful, I agreed from the very beginning that it is ugly.

Keep the sound as long as you need for the new gear, free is always worth it plus the experience and knowing you did your own work so you know where to look if something fails is a good bonus. I wanna hear the Motordyne when you get it though, I personally love the Invidia Gemini sound most

My hat goes off to you because I don't have the skills to do something like this. It sounds great but the looks aren't on par with the way it sounds. You should try doing a true dual exhaust too.
