Default Opinions on Greddy EVO 2 exhaust

Hi I was looking to buy the Greddy EVO 2 exhaust system for my car, I was wondering if you guys could give your opinion on the exhaust? My car is currently NA, so would the exhaust be suitable and provide any slight gains? I was also wanting to supercharge it next year so I was wanting an exhaust good for both NA and FI. Also if I could here your opinions on how it sounds (always sounds best in person) that would be much appreciated. Thanks guys!

I'm running the Evo 2 exhaust. IMO - it's one of the best looking exhaust and sounds perfect. I'm running stock cats and I think it sounds best with it. I ran a set of test pipes and it was raspy, money and time wasted. I recently had the opportunity to buy a set of new ART pipes locally but pass because I love the way it is now... no reason to change. Despite my possible max gain of running test pipes or hfc... I chose stock cats because that's how important sound is to me compare to hp gains.

No rasp or drone, you can carry a conversation without yelling but at WOT you'll hear the roar. A lot of people say it's too quiet, a little more aggressive than stock but I like it that way because I'm not a attention ***** and prefer to be unnoticed.

Gains - none, if any and you won't feel it.
Supercharge? Get the Evo TT version (burnt tip)... that's suited for FI.

GL on your decision.

Thanks so if I also got new headers and down pipes along with that exhaust, do you think it would make it even louder than just the greddy exhaust? Also I was thinking I'd just stick with the evo 2 as the tt might be too big for just NA as I was wanting to supercharge it a little after I have gotten all the new exhaust system ready for FI.

Down pipes are test pipes I'm guessing. Running aftermarket headers and test pipes will intensify your exhaust sound (what brand did you get?). Good or bad, I don't know... only time will tell after your install. Keep us posted.

Love the Evo II. I have my resonators cut out and like stogey said, it's not obnoxious, but you def know its there.

You may have a hard time finding one since they are discontinued. I also want ART pipes but love the sound I have...

Youtube rxkid09 to hear mine.

Sounds good, I think I will go for the evo 2 then, and get new headers and test pipes to go with it. Is there any brand of headers anyone would recommend? I was thinking I'd just get stillen headers and test pipes unless someone has another recommendation.

I owned it once. Didnt like the evap relocation. Sounded great with stock cats. After that with test pipes sounds awful

So just having the evo 2 and everything else stock sounds the best?

Did you listen to my youtube clips? THAT'S what I think sounds best. That's my .02

It took a long time to decide to cut into my exhaust, but I couldn't be happier, and I still have the resonators should selling it be an option.

This exhaust has been around for a very long time so there are plenty of threads with reviews if you search for it

That being said I have run this exhaust for 5 years and love it especially when combined with HFC's

As others have said it does require a relocation of the EVAP box so if you buy a used one from someone make sure you get it with that bracket

This exhaust is long discontinued so you will need to be patient since they are a little hard to find

Ok thanks for your opinions! I think I'll just get the exhaust first and later on a headers and test pipes.

Does anyone know anything about the ARK grip exhaust. I might actually get that one instead.

Good exhaust as well, easier to comeby than the Evo2 and very similar tone quality

i got an evott from mattsals through trade for my borla. man i really like the exhaust tone. its a little deeper and louder than the evo2. the evo2 sounds a little more stock but its a great exhaust with a good note. evaps on these exhaust suck but other than that it was worth it

hey i have an evott with the resonators out. the drone is pretty bad. vibrations in my car are also getting bad due to the loudness inside the cabin. do you think getting the magnaflow x-pipe welded right after the y pipe reduce or kill drone? **** i wish i had the original resonators

have you seen how hard headers are to put on these cars? i had a buddy that put some in and it took him 9 hours, i heard it is actually easier to pull the motor to do them. if you are going to do headers and test pipes, why dont you combine the into one and get the PPE long tube headers. i am not a fan of the non-resonated test pipes, they sound "pingy" to me, especially on the DE's

Wanna buy mine? I'm not sure if they are same/similar...I doubt I'll ever take the time to have them rewelded in even if I did part out...

+1 on header install. I originally wanted to do all the exhaust, but after I saw the "12-17hp gains possible" and how tightly the header situation is, I decided no matter what it would be more of a hassle, especially if a leak developed...

PERFECT word for non res TPs....."pingy" My straight pipes sound like that when they are cold and I go WOT in 1st, but after they warm up, they sound dreamy
