Default Installed used exhaust , burning smell ?

So i put a pop charger on and last weekend i got a great deal on a used stillen true dual exhaust . When i was installing it i did my best to check where the x pipe is cause the stock y pipe had a heatshield and i saw no electronics above it just the driveshaft .

So when i drive it a bit im getting a burning smell , cant really identify the smell somewhere between burning plastic and rubber , im trying to figure out what it could be , the gaskets settling in ? Residue in the exhaust (i know he had test pipes and a stillen blower) more then anything i just wanna know what i should look out for . Being cat back i dont think it would really mess anything up short of burning stuff above it and im gonna check for that this weekend ... But im not a mechanic so i just wanted to be on the safe side and ask people who might know what i should look out for and if i should be too concerned , also im installing a motordyne spacer later this week

Maybe you damaged/bent something when you tried popping a wheelie.

Could just be wd40 or something like that burning off as the previous owner could have sprayed the bolts. See how it is in a few days, if it still smells after a week then research more. If everything is installed properly I wouldn't worry.

Sorry to say but yes you will be. Don't worry you are not the only one, and the worst of them all is Dugan. If you get a chance read up on his story. Every once in a while when it seems like things aren't going right in my life or if I am really stressed, I read the epic Dugan thread and feel so much better after.

Made me feel just as good reading your post about popping wheelies. you ever acheive that feat, OP?

in all seriousness, its def either wd-40 or some lube they used to get off the bolts and carbon deposits because of the test pipes the other guy ran with the exhaust, give it a week, should burn off.

Maybe the dude ran over a plastic bag that stuck to the exhaust and left a small patch that hasn't burnt off yet.
