Default JIC y pipe

I just got the JICy-pipe.
my question is, the 2 pipes are2.5 inches, they go into a 3 inch collector. my exhuast pipe is 2.5 inches. the two flanges meet up fine, but will the step up in size be ok? I've asked a few people and they said it would be alright, don't worry.

If the exit is 3" and your exhaust is 2.5" these won't mate up, and this will not work.

Are you measuring internal or external piping?

It will meet up, but you won't maximize your flow as you're flowing into a smaller diameter.

You might consider a 3" cat-back exhaust. Or you can just get a Japtrix mid-pipe (b-pipe) which is 3" diam. to the muffler. This is the route I went. That way it will match up. It probably won't destroy your car to run the 3" collector pipe into the 2.5 rear pipe, It just won't be ideal. (or "it" won't be ideal oops)

Yup, that's my current set up. No problem thus far. Will be swapping the Japtrix Y-Pipe for the JIC soon.

Anything wrong with the Japtrix Y-pipe? I have the Ultimate racing y-pipe.

Nah, nothing wrong with the Japtrix. For the money, you can't beeat it, but it was time for a change. I wanted to try a slightly different design.

Actually I measured the collector, it is not 3 but 2.75. So my 2.5 exhaust pipe won't be that bad. A eighth of an inch is not bad.

will the JIC y-pipe matches the stock exhaust in terms of piping size?

WHA? A leak? Nooooo! I assume you have a gasket at the connection point? What connection point are you talking about?

*bump*

I'm probably going to be buying the JIC y-pipe soon, and I just came across this thread. So is there any word or more info about this leak? Do others have this problem as well?

Jason@Performance, any thoughts?

Also, who sells the Japtrix mid pipe?

Thanks in advance
