Default Can I install hi flo cats with just ramps and wrenches?

Was going to DIY my Ultimate Racing cats next week and was wondering for those who have changed there cats and pipes, is it easy, or hard and can you do it with just regular driveway ramps?

Thanks

I did not notice anything about exhaust in your sig.

If you are considering exhaust, get one and do it at the same time.

i also installed the rt cats with ramps, jackstands, and a variety of tools. the hardest part is removing the stock cats, esp. the top bolts closest to the engine.

Also, get a hold of a 22mm OS2 wrench. That way you won't damage the sensors.

Good Luck!

I also did the install with ramps in my garage. All of the above is important. The fun part is tightening down all the bolts after you put the aftermarket HF cats back on. Depending on the size of the HF cat itself, some of the bolts may be harder to get to with the tools that the stock ones can be taken off with. It is not necessarily hard, but can be time consuming since there is not a lot of room for wrench movement.

I took mine off with jack stands. Putting the stock cats back on was very time consuming considering what it entails. I think with jackstands, figure it will a little more than double the time it would take to get the job done with a lift.

another thing,

if your cats did not come with any nuts and bolts you will need to pick some up.

And remember, using a U-Joint (bendy knuckle thing) adaptor will throw off your torque wrench. Set your wrench for at least 5 lbs. over the middle of the range if you tighten using one.
