If two people have either of these, pros/cons of each? Which one would you choose? thanks

I'm chiming in on the Motordyne TDX2 - Been running it for over a year now.

Pro's:

+ Optional HFC midpipes
+ Sounds great, especially when paired with ART pipes
+ Good build quality, and can pick between TI/SS tips

Con's:

- Price - but since both are within the range of each other assuming this isn't an issue

I chose the TDX2 because I fell in love with the sound clips on YouTube, plus there was absolutely no drone which was a huge ++ for me. (was being before I had cams installed, slightly drones at low rpms now)

I have the HKS Hi-Power. All CBE are more noise makers than any real whp gains imo. To me all dual CBE sound relatively the same on the VQ. I think HKS was costly over MD, and now much harder to source replacement pieces since HKS exited North American market.

HKS with testpipes and headers sound pretty loud at WOT and pop\crackle a lot (I like that some don't). Can be hissy when cold and some claim rasp at low rpm. Others have complained about the H-pipe construction, but I have not found that to be the case with mine. If you do go this route, buy authentic, cuz fitment was spot on. Used ones come up from time to time.

Nice description, but if you had to do it again, would you pick the Motordyne over the HKS?

I have the HKS TD paired with Berk test pipes and absolutely love it. Honestly I don't think you can go wrong with either. Both are reputable companies. After all, exhaust gains are marginal and it's really about the sound. So if you like the sound of the HKS over MD then go with that. Vice versa.

Thanks! The Nismo exhaust was my very first choice, but then I don't know what happened lol. It sounds great though!

Yeah, I like the sound of the HKS sounds like the one from Tokyo Drift it sounds so deep and throaty.. but then again the MD just sounds raw! From hearing MD videos, if you could go back, would you get the MD over the HKS?

I remember reading somewhere it had an APS turbo-back with Magnaflow mufflers. The car had a APS twin turbo kit also.

Not going to lie I loved that car. IMO one of the nicest cars in all of the movies.

I think if you like the VQ sound then get the MD because the HKS takes that away.
