Default Exhaust parts for performance!!!

So I been looking for an exhaust set up for my 08 z (super quiet )and idk wat route to go , I was thinking getting a single catback exhaust or going with the momentun test pipe y pipe ? Would a catback with the same gains as the test pipes y pipe upgrade ? Or should I consider changing the OEm catback right away if I get the momentun pipes? I really would appreciate u guys input on this thanks 😳

You know, I told myself I was going to become a better a better veteran member and help those with less knowledge. However it's threads like this that make me wanna go off the deep end.

Search as many pages as you can in the intake exhaust sub forum. Thx

This generation and their texting shorthand...

Why would you run a Momentum cat delete to y-pipe combo with a stock midpipe with resonator and stock muffler... the whole point of deleting cats and aftermarket y-pipes is to increase exhaust flow which is completely useless when you're running a completely restrictive stock midpipe/muffler with 2.25" piping behind them.

So yes, if you purchase and plan on installing a Momentum cat delete/y-pipe combo... you should replace the rest of the exhaust with an aftermarket unit at the same time.. Fujitsubo Legalis R, even a Nismo S-Tune.

I miss Grapevine, it's where I grew up.

I would also look into the Tomei expreme ti with Motordyne XYZ + resonated pipe, I have this setup and absolutely love it. I used to own the Motordyne TDX v2 but wanted a bit louder and more volume so I changed it to the Tomei. I also have ART pipes with both setups.

You will never feel the "gains" or the function.
The only thing changeable is the "form",the sound it makes.

I'm selling my used Bassani for $600 right now...

It's quiet, and has a nice tone, no drone. Shows real whp gains, I had a before/after dyno at Z Car Garage where it was installed originally.

So your saying that if he changes the whole exhaust system the only thing he will gain is sound ?

I would take this offer if I were you. I have a Bassani on my 05 with Berk HFCS and the sound is amazing, no drone and it's quiet under 3k RPMs but once over that it sounds great. They are about $1,100 brand new so you are getting it for 45% off.
