Purchased Invidia Gemini Exhaust New --
Decided to make a new thread and let the other one where I was trying to get help deciding fall off the page,.. As I've pulled the trigger and decided that I wasn't going to find a Nismo S Tune used soon (I gave it roughly two weeks.. had two deals get sold out from under me.. so said meh..)
So I kept looking and reading about all the exhausts you guys recommended,.. and for roughly $200-$250 more I couldn't resist the BRAND new Invidia Gemini True Dual Exhaust with Titanium Rolled Anodized Tips. No rust,.. made well, all new nuts, bolts, gaskets, etc. Haven't read a single bad review about it .. so it's done.
Anyhow.. The reason for the post isn't just to say what I bought.
It's on installation. I've gone over the wiki,.. and read posts I've searched up...
Here's the thing -- I'm fine with installing it myself.. I've already done much more difficult projects on the car in the last 8 weeks..
But,.. I'm hearing that the exhaust bolts/nuts are likely to be Rusted together/seized and/or impossible to break free with a wrench/socket ratchet,.. especially doing it with minimal room under some jack stands.
Just wanted some of your first hand experience installing your exhausts on a car with similar year and mileage (Mine is a 2008 350Z with 27k miles).
I don't have tools to get a bolt out that breaks on me .. I don't have a breaker bar.. and have been told I couldn't really use one with the little space I have to work with under jack stands.
I will be doing this solo.. no help. The process itself is simple.. unbolt, remove from hangers.. and I am going to assume putting the new exhaust on will be easier than taking the old off.
It more likely the nuts/bolts will be rusted/seized/ or otherwise impossible to break free at some point in taking the old exhaust off? Or is that more of a low percentage occurrence? This car has been in the Southeast it's whole life.. So it has rust, but not Salted roads or Florida type rust.
I ask because I don't want to get under the car and get stuck with no options in them middle of it.. So have to make a decision if I should do it myself based on the likelihood/chance I can get all the nuts/bolts off the old exhaust with a socket/wrench -- Or get stuck on one of the bolts/nuts.
I am not asking the impossible,.. for you to tell me one way or the other, that's obviously impossible to know. Just from those who have done this on a similarly aged/mileage 350,.. what you experienced.
Thanks

I think you might be worrying to much! I have an 07 nismo and put the gemini true dual on mine, mind you i had 15k miles on it when i changed mine.
What i found to help was put the car on jack stands and then spray all the OEM bolts with a rust penetrator to help the process.
This is what i used. Spray it on and let sit for a couple hours and then start tearing it apart!!

Super easy. Don't overthink it. I can do it by myself with a jack and simple hand tools. Some of the bolts might be tricky but with a little persuasion will come off. You can do this!!!

Thanks for the reply's.. I am on several 350 forums.. And the replies on the other forums are the opposite of what you guys have said, which is the only reason I asked. Most of them said after 6 years some of the bolts are likely to be seized/rusted up, etc..
This is a simple procedure,.. it's harder to change your reverse bulbs frankly.. It's just X number of bolts, and getting it out of the hangers. The only issue I was asking about is bolts that are seized/stuck.
I'm not overthinking lol.. you guys are funny, just because someone asks a question about an exhaust install and others experiences who have done it on a 6 year old vehicle doesn't mean they are overthinking. Every job I have done on this car so far has worked first time because I've done my homework which equates to "overthinking"
Appreciate the advice,.. I'll have a look at that particular lubricant you linked.

I would highly recommend having somebody help you instead of being alone and doing it. It's just a safety issue, plus it helps to have someone there handing you tools or giving you a break when you get frustrated with a bolt or 2.

woot woot, you will like the exhaust and it is very easy to install. i put mine on with my nephew when i was around 40k miles and i didnt have any isssues with the cat bolts, didnt even use pb blaster. my suggestion is go to harbor freight and get another set of stands and get the whole car up in the air

Where did you guys get your exhausts? I've been shopping around for this one and want to pull the trigger in a few months when it's warm enough for me to get under the car again.
Best prices I've found so far are just under $900 shipped from several eBay stores and vendors.

Are you looking at the same exhaust.. Invidia Gemini? if so.. PM ImportPartsPro and tell him I sent you. (Kidding on the sent you part.. he's well established on this forum). But he'll give you a fantastic deal and ships immediately.
IE: Ordered mine, and it will be here Wednesday.. Shipping Monday arriving Wednesday is pretty good for a heavy and huge exhaust system,.. I may be closer to where it's shipping from and that's why the such a quick turnaround.. but still I think he has quick shipping to anyone in the US.

Thanks, I will. I'm waiting for winter to be over. My garage is so full right now that I'd have no place to put anything, and I'm sure having the exhaust in my house would be so damn suspenseful it would drive me crazy just looking at it.

Let's just say IN the US,.. I got mine , brand new,.. shipped for Under $850,.. now, I'm sure depending on where you are in the US is going to effect the shipping and total price.. I have a feeling I'm somewhat close to where it's coming from as shipping was $35.. and for 2nd Day Air on a Cat back dual exhaust system (has to be huge boxes) and weigh a ton.. that's cheap imho.
