I figure since the car stayed in Georgia it's whole life (no salt roads, no salt air).. and only had 26k (27k now).. That must be why my exhaust came off so easily. That is bound to transfer to the rest of the system.

I do realize the torque will go higher and heat issues due to it getting closer to the heat source (engine).

You guys said NO SHOP for the Cat back.. feel the same about HFC/Test pipes?
I installed HFC's on my Z and I have to say it was pretty easy. The only thing is one of the bolts must be accessed from the engine bay. Buy a long extention (24-30") and you can get them very easy.

Made a video with an old Kodak Camera and Iphone due to them having different audio,.. Not much to them.. and tried to use a dB meter on one,.. but Battery on my old Kodak Camera lasts about 1-2 minutes from 100% to empty,.. so no luck there.

Yeah?

While the catback installs all seemed fairly straight forward with a few bad experiences in there.. The Test pipes or HFC installs are riddled with "Demon Bolts"

Even Master mechanics are having issues with some bolts on these things -- and it's not uncommon for people to Cut off a bolt or two.. or if they have the experience/know how to properly torch a stuck bolt then spray it with cool water to cause the expansion/reduction to easily remove it.

The HFC's and test pipes that I feel comfortable going with (that won't sound bad, and are quality) are all at minimum $450-$600.. This IS an item many people get a shop to do due to location/bolt issues.. And due to the time involved this is more of a 2 hour (sometimes more) shop install.

That said.. I could take a stab at it myself.. and bring it to a shop if I have issues -- but I'd need to be prepared to spend 2-3 hours of labor in worst case scenario.

The test pipes (of any variety) seem to produce a smell/odor -- This is keeping me from going with them.. I was only going to go with ART Motordyne pipes due to how they are designed to eliminate rasp etc.. but,.. The high flow cats are supposedly better on this odor/smell -- And I feel the Berk High Flow Cats are a good option (run a solid $450-$500+) .

Thoughts on the differences (pro's and con's) between the two, and the installation at this point essentially next to the headers?

Well.. I figured out that I essentially wanted the Berk HFC's.. but,.. giving the Exhaust a few days.. I don't want "louder" anymore. Not sure what happened, but it's perfect right now. (Saves me money lol).

So I'm happy with it!

Didn't know it had it's 'loudest' sound at the lowest RPM's.. ie: 2k-2.5k is the loudest note in all the gears.. It's a SUPER deep note that disappears with no gas, and comes roaring back with gas. It passes and goes up to 2800-3k+ and it's not deep but more high pitched (but not even close to raspy).

Just ordered mine from kyle at import parts pro, ive always liked helping out venders over here. Hes having some kind of christmas deal going on... not sure if its still going, but if u call him he could probably give u a deal. Got mine for 800. its jan and my car i stored away for the winter. so i should be installing mine in april when it gets warm... I know, kinda pointless to buy the exhaust if u cant install it. But i couldnt pass up the deal since these usually go for 900. So yea go over to the vender and hit him uo. Trying to help the guy out, lol.
