Question probably a stupid question( gutting cats)

Ok, I'm here about to ask probably a stupid question. Would I be able to gut my cats? Would it help or damage anything? I'm asking cuz on my rx8 I could gut my cat and it would be a lot better for my engine. And comments, concerns? Please and thank you.

Just buy test pipes for ~$100. I don't think our cars run quite as rich as RX8s do. I remember doing some research on cat gutting when I had my 8.

Gutted cats are turbulent and don't help at all, test pipes help. Only an idiot would gut a set of cats, unless they are plugged up.

You will gain far more power with the right diameter test pipes as opposed to the gutted cats which are only like 2" i cant remember what i measured mine at when i took them off. Not worth the effort for probably terrible rasp.

You are better off buying some test pipes and slapping them in instead.
