Need help determining v-band clamp size for my exaust
I'm so pissed right now. I have bought three flanges, spent $77 on flanges that dont fit...and cant get anybody selling them to do something as simple as take a ****ing tape measure to their flanges in stock and tell me what size flange I have, so I can buy the right clamp!!! I may have to start bad feedback on ebay but want to wait till I calm down and think on it a bit.
Anyway...My flange measures about 3.25 on the flare end, not the pipe end. I have bought what was said to be a 3" clamp, which was too big, and a 2.75" clamp that was too small. Is there something in the middle?
the 3" had "89" on it, which I think may be 89mm. The 2.75" had "70" on it.
I realize there is a 76mm flange, but everywhere I find it, it's shown as a 3"... and the one I ordered and found to be too big was said to be 3".
Is a 3" the same as a 76mm? I know it converts out to be the same, but is a 3" clamp called that to fit 3" tube or is the FLARE end 3"? One flange kit I bought fits 3" tube, but the flare end is 3.75" and is an 89mm.

It depends on the manufacturer. as there are various vbands assemblies available as I see no standard flange size. They're typically characterized by the tube size. I have the vibrant stuff on my car.
I also used Burns stainless. Awesome parts and excellent customer service, not to mention their fab work is fantastic.

I'm about ready to just hold the flanges together and weld them in place. I can tell you...I would NOT recommend a turbonetics kit to anybody. Talk about **** for support... They sold the rights to this kit to Treadstone...they are not good for helping you at all. It's like any email reply was a tweet...and they can only type so many letters. Very short replies, not good and comprehensive answers. They refer you to their website that doesn't work about 80% of the time, and they don't like to take orders over the phone or via email.
Treadstone website wont come up on computer, got it pulled up on phone, but I still can't get a hold of them via phone. I want to make 100% sure I'm ordering the right clamp. Their website shows one downpipe flange but there are more than one on it and they are different sizes.
I called Turbonetics. My interpretation of their involvement in the kit and Treadstone: They stopped making the kit, sold drawings and fixtures. The kit is sold by Treadstone, TN isn't selling any more for the car... and the only parts that are supplied by turbonetics are the turbo and wastegate.
If I had it to do over again, I would not have bought this kit, and I will not buy another kit for anything. I would be afraid they would sell the "rights to" it to somebody else again...and it be a company that poorly (if at all) supports it. IMO, Turbonetics does their company harm by doing deals like this. It damages their reputation.
btw...going on day three with no reply from treadstone.

There are two different size pipes. I'm assuming you are trying to get clamps for the larger one which the car has two of. OBX 3" for larger clamps. OBX 2.5" for smaller ones. Though OBX clamps are cheap. Do not over tighten. I added 100% graphite gaskets that only need 20psi to seal the v-band flanges on my set-up

This experience has pretty much burned me on Turbonetics and Treadstone.
If TN's only involvement is letting a company market a kit using their name and turbo, they are at fault for attaching their name to that of a company that will not support their product. Other than a few words on the phone, TN won't help. They will not sell me a flange, even. The guy looked up on Treadstone's website and gave me a part number, but they only list one downpipe flange. After four days of no reply from Treadstone, I went ahead and ordered it, still unsure if it's the right one. I can only hope it's the right one.
I bought the kit used, and I understand that they don't owe me parts that the seller didn't give me...but to support your product, you should help somebody in my situation, by selling parts that are required. So if you buy a new TN kit, I don't think I would expect any better support, should you ever break or need to replace a part.
I bought the kit from a guy that had it on a G35, and so I got the G35 AC reroute hose. He never used it. It was brand new, still in plastic. Treadstone refused to let me swap it, give me any credit for it...no nothing. I realize they don't have to, but working with a customer a little bit can go a long way. I would have been happy with 50% credit even.
Thanks for the crap customer service, and supporting your product, Treadstone

I never replaced my a/c hose(it is millimeters from my exhaust)
In the TN install manual it just tells you how to bend the factory a/c line to fit the turbo kit.
I installed double header wrap on the pipes and the a/c line where it's close to the exhaust and I always run my a/c now to keep the pipes cool

YOu have any other helpful tips? I got a G35 ECU with osiris on it, and got the tuner cable. I plan to send both ecu's to uprev and let them transfer the license to my 350z ecu, and then take it to a shop to do the tune.
I'm using the innovate AFR and boost gauges, installed in the center cubby hole. Running the O2 wire was a bit of a pain. I ran it through the center console, across and through where the wires for the fuel pump are, then down and across to the exhaust. I made sure to keep it up high where it won't drag anything.
I have 775cc injectors that I planned to run, but the stock ones are in now.
Only way it's going to be easy is if you get 550cc injectors and pull the tune off the turboxs website for the TN kit with 550cc injectors.. GTR are 560cc I think and would work also.
Only thing I changed was when the MAP took over for fueling from 0psi to 2psi and changed the map table max from 10 or 12 to 9. because I was running wayy to rich. At wot I'm about 12.3 without adjusting any fuel cells
