Default ART Test Pipes vs TiTek testpipes on HKS HP Exhaust

So, I originally ordered The Greddy Evo3 Exhaust from THMotorsports only to find out 4 days later via email that it's not even in production yet. I have decided to go with the HKS Hi-Power TD Exhaust which should arrive on Monday. My question is this. I currently have non-resonated TiTek test pipes, and I am slightly concerned that the car will be too loud/raspy or have a lot of drone. I have looked into the Magnaflow x-pipe as a possible solution, but I have heard a lot of good things about the ART Resonated Test Pipes as well.

My goal is to get the most gains while achieving a stealthier tone. Last thing I want is some fart can sound drowning out the beautiful sound of the z. I am aware that this has probably been covered in other threads to varying degrees, but was hoping to personally pick your brains about what set up you all think would help me to achieve the specific tone I'm looking for.

To give you an idea of what I'm after, I like the deeper tone of Borla's exhaust, however they tend to be a little louder than my personal taste, hence somewhat deaden the ability to hear your engine while driving.

All comments and suggestions are welcomed and look forward to your posts!

Invidia Gemini TD exhaust is fairly mild, i had it with Stillen HFC's and it was a bit TOO quiet for me so i put Berk TP's on and its perfect.

Just my .02

I have Kinetix resonated test pipes and they have zero rasp, despite being VERY loud. Unlike other RTP's, the Kinetix ones have a longer, more effective resonator.

So you think it would smooth it out more than the MF x-pipe?

Thanks in advance for the input.

yes it will, the ART usually quiet down any set up, especially an off road set up

Hating it? Nah, that's not possible. Getting it to have that perfect purr is kind of tricky though. My first z had a flow master exhaust with Meagan test pipes that were installed by previous owner. You could hear me coming from a mile away. I didn't hate it ... it was just annoying at times. I'm just trying to get the best setup for her and respect the opinions of the knowledgeable people on this site.

Thanks for your input though, all suggestions are welcome

From the research I've done that does seem to be what they claim. Thanks for confirming. Will be purchasing a set from z1motorsports today. I'll post an update when I get them installed.

Thanks

It is all come down to personal preference. For me, to hear my HR with LTH and Tomei exhaust scream at full open throttle is an amazing sound. Plus, you get join the 300whp VQ club.

On the side note, stock car is for stock people.

Maybe this will clear some things up. I def don't want stock... I want gains and a nice tone.

This I love this

This... not so much

Hopefully that will help everyone understand where I'm coming from

Personally, I like Greddy Evo2 if you want to be conservative.

Yes! Personally I love Greddy's tone which is why I ordered the Evo3. But when I got the email from Greddy stating that they weren't in production yet, I called THMotorsports to cancel the order and got talked into the HKS hi-power exhaust. Which I'm cool with because that was my second choice anyway. I guess where I'm concerned is with the non-resonated pipes that I currently have, and whether or not they will drastically change the tone. Ultimately, I guess I'm just going to have to wait to see once it's installed whether or not to change out the test pipes.

Part of me wants to just pull the trigger and get the ART pipes because they are bad*** and I know I can't go wrong with them, but the other part of me wonders if I should just take my chances and spend the money elsewhere.

ugh...decisions, decisions

That made it way more easier than words to understand !

I do know for a fact that if you replace the cats that that tone is still achievable but it will be louder in terms of tone!

So if you like the top video more I would start with a muffler first or catback as in the video !

If not I always recommend the XYZ w/resonator from Motordyne. I've seen it cure the rasp that's in the second video almost 100% of the time.

If know want to save money, there are tons of used parts for sale in the exhaust marketplace. I am getting ready to put up my used exhaust parts for sale in there pretty soon, so look out for them.
