stillen/rt exhaust sound file
here's my Stillen header/RT Cats/Stillen Dual Exhaust wmv file, sorta big, but don't know how to convert it to an mp3. about 750k. I have to compare with the other exhausts, but it sounds similar to one i heard before but i forgot which combo it was.

hah, yeah, i left the cap on the video cam, figured you wouldn't want to see the garage floor. Anyways, thanks, yeah the sound is pretty good out of that combination.

Thats the same sound....
My car makes.... Just the "rasp" is what I don't like....
I think I will change out the RT cats for a non-metallic honeycomb version.... Just deciding which one to get is the next challange...
Enjoy......

Actually, that's the only part i don't like eithe. A little raspy at WOT, but overall i'm pretty happy with sound even though a bit loud. Check these out if you don't like raspy and loud.

Well, everyone likes their own. I'll probably think yours sucks too but you'll think your setup is the greatest. Everyone has their own opinions and that's fine. For every one that likes it, there's probably 2 that don't. But that's exactly why i posted this, so you can hear the combo and judge it for yourself.

Thanks bk_rOx, i'll consider cams later when my wallet isn't so empty . But it's not like i bought the combo because of the sound, i'm looking for max HP out of the combo. It really doesn't sound that bad in daily driving, it's more smooth and mellow, but when you have to jump on it, it does have that rasp, maybe the cats will mellow out after a few hundred miles.

yeah, i heard the injen and invidia exhaust on the dyno and they sound awesome, but with test pipes or hiflo cats it must scream. If you have a sound clip i'd like to hear that setup.

The only piece of criticism regarding this setup is the midrange. It kinda has a "muffled" sound to it, until it breaks through to the high RPMs and has that Italian Screamer sound to it. It's kinda tough to describe, but now that I think of it I don't think I've heard a Z yet that hasn't had that sound.
Call me crazy, but if/when I get a Z, I'm going to mod the intake/heads/exhaust for sound first, performance second. There's nothing like a nice aggressive exhaust note... and its coming from your car!!

pricanz, it's still there, if you have windows media player it should work.
bk_rOx, true, the sound is exactly how you describe it, but yeah, most Z's with a header, cat back and cats have a similar sound. I mean, it's just larger diameter pipe. I guess some exhausts sound slightly different with different pre-mufflers and single/dual pipe configurations, but other than that they should sound slightly similar once they put the cats and headers on. Well, good look tailoring the sound, can't wait to hear it.
