Default newbie and have question on exhaust

I found a nice kit from pro tuning labs and was wondering if anyone has used thier exhaust kit. Also if i get that cat delete pipes will it throw any comp codes or cause any issues?

Also what other mods are recommended I am new to the Nissan market also I am not wealthy so budget minded stuff would be great.

Thanks

Never heard of Pro Tuning so I can't speak on that, but I can say that depending on the brand of cat replacement pipes you get, you can have a CEL/SES light, but not with everything.

Questions of this nature have been asked countless times, so what are your goals with the car? Drag strip, daily, road course, autoX, show car?

I daily drove my Z for 3 years and my favorite mod was my Hotchkis sway bars. I just put on coilovers, but it's not quite spring so I haven't driven on them yet.

Thanks on exhaust looks, like a nice kit its full true dual etc looks like the high dollar ones, maybe they just copied and changed mufflers who knows.

Daily Driver/Sleeper crappy part is in Austin unless I know the few shops I woud never get my inpection and emissions and now without that no registration but ways around all that.

Im normally a fox body mustang guy, you ask me waht what to do to them I know.

Do they have larger throttle body kits? Larger fuel injectors and fuel pump? I planned on doing some coil overs. Mine is the AT which I dont like but it was in my price range.

Id like more power, better handling, overall nicer look and want to budget about 4k over the year as I get big checks. I need a new front bumper so been looking at body kits as well.

^^ This is key.

Have a plan then go.

Stock Z responds best to suspension first (at least my opinion) then add power as you get to know your car and YOUR limits.

As NoQuestionZ said, sway bar set up is the best bang for your buck. Doesn't have the glam LOOK that so many like/want but flattening out the suspension is the key to full enjoyment of the car.

I won't mention driving school here since I'm getting the rep for being harpy about that.

Oh wait.....

It drives rat her nice compared to the many mustang I have owned lol I know it could handle better with better suspension.

I would like to just get rid of the restrictive exhaust and cats but I can't have that causing cel coming on being in order to pass emissions here you have to have them and no comp codes but could always keep and bolt them on before inspection and clear computer lol

Also being front bumper is damaged was considering an aftermarket front, side skirts and rear add on but not sure yet.

I do more straight road driving then anything. Also I like my car to have power lol my boss wants to race but he has an 04 Corvette Lemmans sedition with suspension, egr delete, cai, chip, exhaust and full tune lol but he did wreck it a few nights ago so it may be totaled who knows.

As for what I want it for is daily driver and slight sleeper for drag nothing over the top not into turbos or nitrous.

I miss my old mustang I had handles like crap but was extremely fast 0 to 60 and on 1/4 mile was low to mid 12s

Sorry to say that if you wanted a 0-60mph fast car, you bought the wrong platform, especially if you ruled out the bottle, or boost.

I would just get an exhaust (catback) that suits your sound desire, and call it a day as most if not all cat backs have little or no effect on emissions (from what I know).

Most of our bolt ons are thousands of dollars (total) and a $500 tune just to gain 30-50 rwhp.

Don't get me wrong, you can build a solid NA Z, but I don't think an auto is the best platform. That's my 2 cents.

Exhausts can be found on youtube and are really user's sound preference. Motordyne makes quality exhausts (pricey, but good). They also make ART test pipes which are very coveted in this community (One day, I shall haz them pipes!) I have a GReddy Evo 2 catback with the resonators cut out and love the sound (youtube rxkid09).

Bassani was another choice of mine, and I believe there is a used set up on here for sale.

I would plan WAAAY ahead on your mods. Intakes don't do chit, headers are overpriced, and cat replacements could cause your CEL/emissions to fail.

I say buy some sway bars and check your differential bushing and enjoy the car's handling, rather than the straight line speed.

Best of luck!

I like all performance aspects, i just also like getting to speed fast. Im not looking for a 10 second car by any means. I just want more agressive sound, bit more horsepower say a true 3 to 320 rwh, then fix some body work, re tint, and get my nice sleakers in it and be good. I got the car for a steal imo so I have room to play before I,would loose re saleing .

Thanks for advice

I like exhaust, suspension and see from there idea as for performance. Emmisions well are and are not an issue I can get stickers that hit state no mater how bad car is just cost a decent amount vers regular way pass pay 27 bucks get a sticker lol

You will have a near impossible time making 320 to the wheels without boost or bottle or building the engine. I'd be impressed if you gained 32 hp from ALL bolt ons. To give you an idea, my 08 Z (higher hp engine than yours, 306 at the fly wheel) dynoed at 276rwhp with my catback.

I have no issue modifying engine, cams, heads, intake, injectors and tune. It will be a slow process like I said I am New to these cars, I am used to a mustang where 5.0 bolt ons and upgrades that make it easy to add power.
