Hello all, I have an 04 Z and I am trying to decided whether or not to install resonated test pipes. The only exhaust mod I have done so far is a flow master 80 series muffler which opened up the stock note and made it a tad deeper. My question to you guys is, what are yall's opinions on how a stock Z sounds with resonated test pipes? Thanks

As much as I would love to get those since they are probably one of the highest quality pieces and most likely the best sounding, I have a small budget and was looking into getting megan racing resonated test pipes.
Resonated test pipes and you'll need blox racing o2 sensor light fix adapters, high flow cats you won't need anything else, you may need to torch off the manifold to cat bolts, and plan on new o2 sensors, my car with 40,000 miles were stuck in. Personally, I agree, I however like AAM Competition. remember that you get what you pay for. If it is worth doing, it's worth OVERdoing. Hope that helps.
I've been wondering the same thing, except today I replaced the oem exhaust with the Invidia Gemini catback exhaust. To be quite honest, I'm a little disappointed because of how quiet it is, so I'm looking to replace the cat with test pipes. Anyone know which ones would give me the best bang for buck if I'm looking to amplify the sound?
EDIT: I'm currently looking at Motordyne ART pipes. Question is, is it really worth spending ~$1000 for a subtle exhaust and putting another couple hundred on test pipes to make it louder? Seems a little silly to me

I have Top Speed Pro 1 resonated test pipes, I believe they ran me about 120$ but for the price it was not bad at all. I have stock headers, topspeed resonated test pipe, stock y pipe, and Invidia N1 y pipe back exhaust and it sounds LOUD. It sounds very deep and the resonated part keeps the car from sounding like a honda in between 3k & 3.5k rpm.
Honestly dude your going to dislike the test pipes, i put some in my Z 1 week ago ended up taking them off 3 days later. The rasp was a bit more than I bargained for not to mention the smell they gave off whenever I was at a stop. I would invest in some HFC over the pipes honestly but that's just my .02¢
I know the MD ART pipes seem expensive but look at it as a one time buy. Whether you want power from your TP/HFC or sound. Most people will will wish they saved their money and bought the ART. With the new generation having bracing to help prevent cracks, think of it as saving money since you will not be spending the same money twice. Dojng LTH or if your province doesn't allow TP would be the omly good reasons not to get these again IMO.
From what I understand, ART pipes are worth the extra money because they do a better job at ridding the rasps (though its not 100% rasp-free). However, I'm trying to get the most volume out of my Gemini, so any resonance will only prevent me from doing so. Same goes with HFC. I'm looking into Berk test pipes, anyone have experience with those?
Megan resonated is just asking for dealing with cracks later down the road. The only resonated test pipes I'd buy are the Motordyne ART pipes. After that I'd suggest non-resonated test pipes simply because there's less of a chance of them cracking.
