Default Intake question

So the only mods I have on my 350 right now are a plenum spacer and a Z1 street cold air intake that goes in front of my radiator. Is it possible my car is getting too much air and the ecu can’t handle it? A mechanic said I’m technically suffocating my engine with the intake. Thanks for the help!

How does one suffocate by getting too much air... anyways no to everything it’s fine. Prolly doing nothing one way or another, other than making it sounds neat.

Shot in the dark but try cleaning your MAF sensor. Especially if you oiled the filter before. It's a pretty sensitive sensor : P But the CAI is nothing that the engine cant adjust to. If that doesnt work then you need to go back and make sure that there are no leaks with the plenum spacer. I threw one on mine but kept the stock gasket on there anyway and cranked it down snug. I suppose you could test for leaks by spraying starter fluid around the plenum. If the engine rpm increases then you've got a leak. Good luck

Yes, I'm leaning towards a vacuum leak.

Also, a mechanic that says that sounds like you went to Juanito's garage. Guy sounds clueless. Go somewhere else.
