Making motordyne shockwave quieter for trackdays
Hey guys,
I'm running a tdx2 exhaust on ppe long tube headers on a fully built NA DE. (c8 cams, wiseco 11. 1,...)
I do many trackdays and before the build, with the art pipes, it was OK for decibel level around the track.
Now with big cams and ppe ltb, it's a blast. It's loud as hell and in France where I live, trackdays organisation start say it's not possible. I did only one since the build but it was my last time before being ban they said 😁
I'm planning to add 2 resonators after the mid muffler, and maybe 2 others near the helmholtz...
Did someone ever try?
I don't want to sell it to have a quiter exhaust if it make me loose power...
Here is a video of my last trackday

Hey Cedric,
I can't remember what the back of the system is like but on my crappy Cobra box I can remove the tips and insert a pair of Decibel Devils. These are straight through and help reduce more high frequencies a noticeable amount.
The other thing is that I can also unbolt the 2 tail pipes themselves and angle them towards the ground. A bit like 'turn down' exhaust tips that many track cars use.
Either way, you're probably going to need to modify it a little.
I'll send you a link to something else to consider too, it's ugly but you can fit it at the track and remove before going home.
