Question A question of lean - 2 different intake/exhaust sounds?

I recently installed the Injen CAI to go along with my Borla exhaust. I had removed the negative cable on the battery and drained the system to reset the ECU. I have a nice growl when I drive it... but... when I punch it from a roll to about 5800, shift to second, the sound changes. It changes to more of a raspy and louder sound. Is this just the sound of the combination getting alot of air, or is it the sound of the system getting too much air and the MAF not compensating in time and I'm running lean?

Your not gonna run lean with just intake and exhaust.

Default When does sound change?

Check to see if the "raspy" sound you're hearing hits your ears WHILE the clutch pedal is depressed during that fraction of a second between your high RPM shift between 1st & 2nd....or does it occur only after your shift is completed and the clutch is released? You also probably "feel" it in your clutch pedal and hear it as you hit high RPM's with your clutch pedal depressed in any situation - during hi-speed, hi-RPM shifting in any gear or just revving it up with the clutch pedal in at a stand still. Let me know....

This is perfectly normal. The higher the RPM's you go the more the sound is going to change and get louder.

It's after the clutch is out and jamming on the gas again. It only happens when you shift fast enough to bark the tires from 1st to 2nd.
