Wink JIC Y-Pipe installed / WOW

Just installed The JIC, nice piece. Jason@performance was right on, it really opened up the exhaust, much more than I figured. I installed RT CATS / JWT Pop-Charger a couple of weeks ago. In conjuntion with the Y-Pipe, it really woke the car up and made it sound like I added a "complete" exhaust system. Well, I guess it should. I May add a new muffler / straight pipe / resonator system later, but don't think it will add much HP. I really don't want any more noise, sounds pretty mean already. I wonder what my A/F mixture is running at. Our friendly So. Cal ECU modder said it may be at 15/1. Any opinions on this and what ratio will begin to melt spark plugs and pistons. I have an appointment at TS in a couple of weeks to reflash, the drive is approx 200 miles. By the way, I now have a slight "buzz" sound when I rev the motor when it revs down to approx 2000 RPM, not too bad though. It may be coming from the muffler area but might just be an inherent sound with this motor after freeing up the exhaust flow. I need another person to rev the motor to allow me to isolate it.

That buzz might be your RT cats. Seems they have that problem from others posting about it.

We added the Y-Pipe to my Nismo system. Not sure it added too much more than the Nismo Y-pipe, but it's design is much nicer. Without a doubt the exhaust gas flow has to be smoother. If your running a stock muffler/y-pipe, then this is the upgrade for you!!! Even Nissan say's it's the Y-Pipe that makes the power, not the muffler (with a stock system VS Nismo that is)....

Just wondering, you didnt have any problme with leakage did you?

I know there was another member with JIC y-pipe, and used 2 gaskets I think but still had problem...

nope, because the injen exhaust goes all the way up to the cats, eliminating the need for a y-pipe...

I had no problem with leaks. It came with gaskets and attach hardware. It is very good quality (made in Japan). I might add, it is not symmetrical.
