Default Filter/Pop Charger HP gains

Can anyone tell me how much HP gain to be expected from installing a Filter Charger? How much HP will it add to the 287Hp. JWolf tech claims a 6.5hp increase at the wheels, but I am interested in knowing if it would pass the 300HP mark at the flywheel.

This topic has been slaughtered.

There's X gain at 5k+ since it leans out the mix a little. It's tough to measure since each dyno can vary up to 4-6rwhp on each run. 11hp is highly doubtful, 6 isn't unbelieveable on a stock setup.

It's a good mod, worth it for the sound alone.

As saint said. Worth it for the sound alone. I felt a slight gain, but the sound difference is just amazing.

Is this sound just better or just louder?

Loud, its like a ricer mod. Its like when you see/hear a civic or integra do a ricer fly-by when they see you washing/drying your car. Hear me roar.

Just because its loud doesnt mean its doing anything.

Well, if its too loud, I'm gonna sell it (just ordered and should receive next week). I don't like high pitched loud.

Yes, I own one. A '92 512TR Testarossa but it's not my daily driver. My G35 cpe 6MT is and I don't want the sound to be obnoxious.

a little hint for you then, do NOT mess with any intake or exhaust modes, they all add dbs.

I just did a K&N air filter but I might switch to the JWT. I can't hear any difference with the K&N...has anyone else with a K&N heard any sound difference?

you will hear a little if you remove the silencer in the airbox. It is at the bottom of the box and it is made of foam. Pull the biotch out.

I had the K&N drop-in, and just recently installed the JWT Pop-charger.

One word, AWESOME. I wish I would have never wasted the $40 for the drop-in filter.

Go with the popcharger, you won't be disappointed. The sound is amazing especially at WOT.

I felt a slight gain also.

Thanks for the input. Any idea about a down side to removing the foam?

No downside, I ran like that for a several hundred miles. All it does is absorb the sound from the intake box.

Seems like JWT pop charger is the intake of choice. Do you order them directly from JWT or is there another vendor that sells them?
I read one thread , can't remember where. that someone got one for about $100.00. Is that a realistic price. Thanks for any info.

Bob
