In business you ALWAYS retain your customers by providing EXTRAORDINARY service. Very few customers care about price, they would rather have the best customer service. Good Job LSD, I will be buying your products soon.

sounds good. makin the plenum more idiot proof, i.e. dealer proof, was my main concern. i didn't doubt with the right directions i could get it on there without any leaks.

Been out driving for a couple of hours. I have put mods on and taken mods off. The only thing that would make me take this one off would be to experience seal problems. Based on Kinetix exceptional service, that would only be for a few days. The sound you get from the Borlas / Plenum combination is fantastic. A total change. Did dyno before the Plenum. Would like to another dyno after the Plenum. Again after installing the Kinetix Cats. And once again after installing the JWT Popcharger which is on my bench saying "put me on!". The Plenum has been the best "bang for the buck" to daye.

Take your time I would rather wait a little longer for a better product. FYI: torque wrench is about $30 at ACE Hardware and $20 at Menard.

If you continue to have problems, please, I insist you let me update your plenum with the inserts.
It seems that those who found leaks tightened in a star pattern. When you say "go around," do you mean tighten one screw after the other sequentially (like going around a paint can lid with a mallet)? Or would that not make any difference?

What are some ways you can tell if you got a leak? Is there a loud noise or RPM fuctuations?

And that's what I call the beauty of PLASTIC. I held on of these intakes today and I have great concern about the long-term reliability and durability of this plastic. Many of you may end up with nice Chip and Dip sets a few years from now. I hope not, but that thing does not give me much confidence... Just my thoughts. And, if you are thinking forced induction, don't even think about it with this plastic thing on top of your motor, 'cause I think this plenum can't take the pressure.

Read about what? All of the cracked plenums? Provide me with some long-term reliability proof. Any tests? How do you know these will hold up? BTW, I am not being hateful or trying to be. Don't get all excited. I have actually looked over both intakes and as an experienced shade tree mechanic, find it hard to believe that this thing will hold up. If you don't share my opinion, that's fine too. Just hope that I'm not right. You'll just have to have me over for some chips, if I am. I'll even bring the beer and the Kleenex so you can wipe your tears if you have spent the $400 for one of these.

I think your concerns are valid, and some people will feel more comfortable as time passes. We can do all the research and testing possible, but really only time will tell.

All we can do to ease concerns is to offer a lifetime warranty on the material and any defects in the plenum.

If you have a minor leak, you may get some idling problems, that would be the best way to tell.

so the fact that MANY cars come from the factory with plastic plenums means absolutely NOTHING to you?

do THEY hold up?
what about THEIR long term reliability?
they are made of PLASTIC aren't they? but how could they hold up? MAYBE WE SHOULD CONTACT THEM, THEN AGAIN, maybe YOU should. Or of course you could just talk some $hit.

don't trust it, don't buy it.

how long do you need to wait to feel comfortable with one of these and its ability to last the long haul?

how about if you read alittle you would find that kinetix is offering a LIFETIME WARRANTY on these plenums? so if it gives you problems down the road, what does that mean? I guess I would not know that answer either....

maybe i should post some uSELess information, as well, without doing ANY RESEARCH whatsover and see what people will say.

ok here goes......

i have the plenum
you are now at post #7
do you even know what a plenum is?
are you even over 15 years old?

I'll say it again,

GO HOME.

It's idiots like you that make arguable points impossible to argue. Read the reply from the Kinetix guy and see how a concern should be handled. The man kept his cool, tried to make me confortable with his product and was not negative or hateful to me in any way. For that, I appreciate him. I may not buy his plenum, but I'll definitely consider any other products he may be selling. Like I said, I just wanted some discussion over the issue, NOT A BATTLE. But, you had to turn this into some dumb *** sissie girl "I have the plenum and you suck because you don't believe in it and I just love it 'cause I spent $350 on it so it must work" BS argument. May be YOU need to settle down and read.
I am 31 years old, have been an avid shade tree mechanic for over 10 years. I also am college educated with a degree in environmental science.
I have had a 1990 N/A RX-7, a 1988 Turbo II RX-7, a 1984 Mercury Cougar and 1977 Malibu Classic (the last 2 not my favorite, by far). I currently own a 1998 Dodge Durango, a 2003.5 G35 Sedan and a 1984 Corvette. I have done all of the maintenance and modifications to these cars myself. I have personally rebuilt the Corvette's engine and I am currently putting new heads, intake (and by intake I didn't mean some 10 minute K and N filter kit, I mean the real intake) and cam on it hoping to make 400 horses after all is said and done.
The fact that I have only 8 (now 9) posts only reflects the fact that I am new to this board. So YOU get you facts straight about ME and then we'll talk.
I am aware that there are many plastic intake manifolds out there (OK may be not that many, but a few) that are made of plastic. The LS1 Corvette, for example, has many runners and the shape and form is made to add strength due to its many curves and different shapes for its high surface area. I may be getting too technical for you here! Look at the Kinetix, It's just a flat piece of plastic. There does not seem to be much strength on the piece. Sure it is held down by bolts, but the fact is that the plenum will only be as strong as the plastic around the bolts.
As for my comment about forced induction... Let's say you add a Turbo that puts 7 pounds per square inch (about the going rate for available kits) on that plenum. Now let's say that the plenum is 1 foot by 1 foot. That is equivalent to 144 square inches of surface area. Thus 144 X 7 is 1008 pouns of acutal pressure against that plenum. Now take your plenum, place 1000 lbs of weight on it and see if it does not deflect. This would tell us if it's good enough. Of course, long term reliability at that pressure MAY STILL BE AN ISSUE. Also, it seemed the plenum was bigger than 1' by 1'. This would increase the pressure quite more. If you give me the exact dimensions, I'll calculate it for you in case you can't so the math.
Plenum??? What Plenum? Is that the thingie by the muffler bearing or the silver colored trim around the dash? Oh, wait the silver trim is actually the Sport Package's titanium finished dash trim. OOPS! If I could only figure out what that thing by the muffler is???? Damn!

As far as the lifetime warranty goes.... The warranty is only good as long as the company is around!
And that I believe is post #10!!!

Sweet. I and on my way to your 1222 or whatever posts. You are so smart! You can write that many posts or may be you don't have a job and write all day long???
