Default JWT pop charger = stalling??

read a couple posts about it. usually happens going WOT or letting off the gas at a high rpm. Ppl still getting these symptoms? Thinking about getting the procharger soon. i heard the sound alone is worth the price of admission

So after I install, would disconnecting the neg terminal for 24hrs be a safe bet? or not required? i don't want to be mashing it on the onramp and then the car dying out on me.

During normal driving you shouldnt have any problems, the only time I stall is around 60mph, revving at around 4000rpm then shifting into neutral. If you usually shift into neutral then you might have a problem, I was only messing around when I first noticed it. If anyone else has the Popcharger, can you try this and see if you stall. (If you do stall just press in the clutch and start the car while moving). BTW I do not have a CEL or anything light that. Thanks in advance.

edit: Does not stall all the time when I do this, probably only 1 out of 5 times.

I've never faced this problem, have had mine on for about 2 weeks now and I installed it myself which took about 15-20 minutes.

Stalling will occur exactly as you describe if the cone is not properly afixed. If you shift out of gear into neutral and the cone is loose, the rpms will drop below 500 and keep going until stall and lights come on. Check your instal.

I just installed my new popcharger and took it out for a drive. When I shift into neutral and the RPM's come down they drop to 500 then come back to about 650 and stay there.

My car sounds the same as it did before except now I hear a slight whistle sound from about 2k RPM on up. I assume this is normal.

I will check my install today and post what I find. It's just weird that this only happens from coming off a high rev while moving and even then it rarely happens.

It stalls because of blow back in the intake. An Apexi SAFC II can fix the problem. I had the same problem with my JWT until I finally just took it off.

I had the problem but it only happened when I would put the car into neutral at higher speeds.

Will however check my install to make sure its not that thats causing the problem.

Still love it though

What the heck do you do if you stall at highway speeds (on a highway)? Pull off and start it up again? This isn't making me feel good about getting one of these. I was considering getting one too once the weather gets a bit nicer here in MA.

(If you do stall just press in the clutch and start the car while moving).

I have had my PopCharger installed for about 3000 miles now ...

No problems whatsoever. Did the ECU reset so it would learn its new found breathing aparatus... Doesn't stall, doesn't idle funny, just sounds mean as hell.

When you do an ECU reset do you just unhook the neg battery terminal overnight? Does this have any other bad effects besides losing your radio stations?
